James? Oink? Surely you both need a ref rant right now? :)

On a happier note the Toon have got a non-french person on loan. A certain Luuk de Jong, who may just possibly be nicknamed Lucky Luuk soon, and definitely sounds Dutch, joins fellow internationals Tim Krul & Vurnon Anita in paradise.

But don't panic, Clément Grenier, who sounds distinctly New Geordie is next, one is told.

What you should do is bite the Prawn Sandwich and start rooting for whichever Manchester team you fancy this year.

Me, I'm a Geordie.

The ref deprived us of what may have been a good close attacking game.

City have so much strength and depth I actually think they have the potential to do the quadruple given that they are top pf the league and already have a league cup final against Sunderland. Any one of Dzeko, Aguero or Negrado would be first choice strikers at Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs. Liverpool and United have good strikers but aren't close to City anywhere else on the pitch.

City- Barca will be interesting.

I have always thought that people from the North East of England were slightly less educated than those from the North West but this sort of confirms my suspicions

Ahead of the Black Cats clash with fierce North-East rivals Newcastle on Saturday, the club have sent a letter to Mackem fans.
Chief executive Margaret Byrne asked supporters travelling to Newcastle's St James' Park to use official club transport.
But, in a bizarre announcement, she also warned fans "about the dangers of flares and polytechnics"!

I wonder what her views on Universities are?

Just before I do, one question: Why were the fans singing the Que Sera / Wembley song

So MA and JK stayed away. Counting the 20m GBP made in the transfer window no doubt. Cheerio AP.

Yes. Very surprising given Jermaine Defoe's departure.

I think when we appoint a new manager in the summer there will be several signings made. Left back and upfront. I suspect Holtby, Capoue and Chadli will be gone by then.

We are stuck with Soldado.

Not after Yesterday. He's tainted with Kinnearitis and has been written off by many. Pas de deux should never have shoved him on as he's obviously not fit (hasn't started a game this season).

Apart form that, getting up at 5AM was sooooo worth it.

I'm not sure what first part of your post is about although a bit of French is always nice.

Getting up at 5am just to discover that your team hadn't improved over the fascist's rabble from last year, who won by the same score, must be particularly painful.

See you in hell. Or possibly the championship. But after you, if you please.
