Pardew must be happy with an 8 yr contract knowing if the Toon want rid of him he will have a big pay day. An enormous amount of faith giving any PL manager an 8 yr contract.
Any suggestions for a new name for the stadium in light of this announcement? Back to Sid James Park me thinks.

On a point of order m'lud, the sheep shaggers come from that bit stuck on to the middle western side not the bit stuck on the top.

It's going to be fairly embarrassing cheering on a team with the word Wonga on their shirts but at least the new sponsors are dispensing with that SDA nonsense and (re?) naming the stadium St. James's Park.

Maybe the questions that need to be asked are do any of the PL stars feel guilty about how much they receive a week regardless of their religion?

Depends on whether they want to play football in my opinion. Their employer provides a uniform as part of their employment, and requires said uniform to be worn at times during their employment (there's prabably an FA, UEFA or FIFA directive in there as well). If they refuse to wear the uniform provided, then the employer probably has a disciplinary process they can follow.

I know it's different for footballers, but if you refused to wear your uniform (or wore inappropriate clothing), you could end up getting fired. I doubt any club would sell a player for this, but they'd almost certainly fine him a few thousand quid.

While I agree with that, my opinion doesn't matter. If Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa and Tiote feel unsettled by this and their performance levels suffer they'll ask to be traded in January. The Toon would be headed back to oblivion (perhaps deservedly).

So finally it looks like a decision is going to be made on Anfailed. They are going to plough 145 million into a redevelopment rather than go ahead with a new stadium.

I tend to think most will be happy and hope that none of the residents want to stay and delay the redevelopment.
According to some of the comments it will make a brilliant Championship ground and the best one is that the new iPhone 5 with its longer screen actually now shows their PL position :rofl:

I remember paying 2 pound fifty to stand on the Stretford End but cant remember what a tea, bovril or pie cost but probably less than a quid for both.
WTF 4 quid for a pie at a Kidderminster Harriers game and they arent even a proper League club.
There again compared to some of the NFL matches some might consider it a deal. $10 to $12 a beer or even a frigging hot dog.
