This post is from January 2008. I was probably the only one on here who had even heard of Juergen Klopp. But he was readily available back then. Less so now given what he's done in Dortmund since leaving Mainz 05.

Of course you are, you're most probably the only one who knows Burgsmuller or Raducanu or used to go and watch BVB 09 as well.

Or what about when Dortmund beat Arminia Bielefeld 11-1 and Bielefeld went 1-0 up through Ewald Lienen one of the best wingers never to get an international cap for his country courtesy of his so called attitude ?
Of course you lived in Germany so you must know all about German football, spinner.

I lived in Dortmund for 4 years and used to go and watch them when I could. A fantastic ground that 'only' held 54,000 then. A lot of squaddies used to go in the 70's and 80's as it was very much like an English ground. The fans have always turned out to watch them. They hate Bayern with a passion but ironically it was Bayern who lent them money when they nearly went out of business a few years after they won the European Cup against Juventus in Munich.
I hope Dortmund win but can't see it, having said that I didn't think they'd beat Real Madrid or that Wigan would beat City in the cup final.
Juve were odds on to beat them, so who knows.
Dortmund and Schalke hate each other but I was a member of the Schalke fan club because you get great discounts on all sorts, they've got over 40.000 members. I've supplied Borussia Dortmund and Schalke Fan Club Verband, both a pleasure to work with.
Heja heja BVB (that rhymes in German)

The best graduate student I've ever had anywhere was from Schalke.
Howay, die Borrussen!

The outcome was a shame but a great game.
I spent a season watching Werder Bremen but Dortmund is still the best ground for atmosphere I've ever been to.

At first I thought the winning goal had been a cock up, it took two replays for me to appreciate it was actually quality.
I suppose, given what happened in the Bayern-Chelsea fixture, Robben can feel a bit chuffed after that.
