or

Firstrow/feed2all have been regulars for a while now. Wiziwig is no more which is a shame, but I find Filmon/composat/viewtelly is now my go-to out of preference.

In fact I'm often finding it better than BBC/ITV players for live viewing.

I seem to remember 2008 it was in the new Wembley when we dispatched that bunch of loadsamoney pikeys from west London.

It was pretty outrageous and arguably more blatant than Maradonna's hand of god. And his celebration, seriously, what a ****ing cheat

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

Here we go again.....
canadasoccertv says Liverpool-Spurs (today) is on sportsnet world (only).
livesoccertv says it's on the zoned channels (Sportsnet East, Ontario etc) and world online but not Sportsnet World TV.

On the Sportsnet site itself under 'live events' it is listed as Sportsnet World ONLY.

Admittedly when you scroll down (and then along) the schedule grid does list the game on the zoned channels as well as on World. But surely the point of the 'live events' is so you don't need to search the grid.

Three different websites, three different answers.

TSN website lists the following as well:
BPL Soccer: Arsenal vs Leicester City
Today at 2:30PM ET / 11:30AM PT on TSN4
BPL Soccer: Sunderland vs QPR
Today at 2:30PM ET / 11:30AM PT on TSN1

I find the grid on the Sportsnet page to be usually pretty accurate

Yes, it is. I do recall sitting down to watch once and the game wasn't on after all. But if you can't believe the company itself, who can you believe?

I remember a few years ago sitting down for a champions league game - advertised by TSN, who then replaced it with Curling!!!

Before today I would have said NUFC were safely above the drop zone.

I agree, although so far, the bookies don't...

Quite frankly though I'm past caring and will remain so for as long as Ashley is the owner.

I think the odds have gone from 150 to 66:1. A flavour of some of the comments on the Chronicle website....

We are hurtling towards relegation this season, never mind next. The owner has made it impossible for anyone else at the club to do anything about it. The manager has no players of his own and is not good enough. The players don't have pride in our club because they all want to play for a bigger one. The players that remain for years are simply not of top quality, and the worst players are those that try hard. The best of them are those that don't try at all, because they have contempt for a club that is not good enough. And the fans have contempt for the club because they are treated with contempt by an owner who has no understanding of the damage he is doing.

Spot on. To create any kind of team spirit the players need to feel part of something bigger and valued as people. The only value our club puts on them is a transfer value as they are not seen as people or players but as marketable commodities.

For QPR to overtake us, they have to get 11points from their remaining 7 games while we get none. Unlikely.
Burnley, who don't score goals, need 10 points while we get none. Leicester need 14 points from 8 games, that's 4 wins & two draws, when they have only win 5 all season. Even Sunderland need 7 points, and they struggle to score goals too. Villa need 8 points and have to play Leicester next. They can't both win.
The bookies are offering odds of 150/1 against us being relegated. That means it isn't going to happen.
However, unless there are massive changes in the summer, including a huge clear out and purchases of quality players, we are almost certain to be relegated next season. The odds against Ashley making the right decisions in the summer are also 150/1 or even greater.

Look I am pleased that the mackems have highlighted how bad Newcastle have become under Ashley's structure and buying polices. We will only stay up this season because the bottom three are not capable of reaching 35 points. The team we could only field yesterday would finish bottom of the premier every season, no doubt about it. Most pleasing of all Ashley will not get his top ten finish another failing of his running of this club. Buy to ony finish 10th then if those buys prove to bad investments or leave the squad short then face a relegation battle. Sunderland are only six points behind us and this has given them a boost, they have a new manager, like Everton and Palace my bet is they will pass us.

<snip>

I agree with the fans' sentiments. It's a bit like the Maple Laughs: there's a limit to what the punters will stand for and then they start drifting away, mumbling incoherently, soaking they're befuddled noggins in resentful confusion. Stopping to care.

+1. I started going to SJP in 1958 but enough is enough.

However I'll be back when Ashley's had his fill of Geordie blood.

And Supa Al has 22 points from 11 league games at Crystal Palace. What were they thinking of?

Just as long Leeds never pollute the premiership ever again I'll be happy. It'd be nice they went non-conference.

It's gone down to even odds now, just after Ashely laid a 34m pound bet.

The last 3 matches don't look too bad on paper but everyone will be looking forward to playing NUFC now. Hopefully all the player contracts have clauses for 50% pay cuts in the event of relegation. Where is Joe Kinnear these days?

He's right. The body language (lack of: gesture, dismay, argument) as the players were heading back to halfway for the kick offs spoke volumes.
