I had a load of garnish consisting mostly of courgettes and swiss chard from the garden mixed in with some pasta.

It is a good thread. There's also one on breakfast and lunchtime choices. Breakfast can be particularly challenging over here.

Tonight, we had leftover salmon on a large green salad. Fresh raspberries from Granville Market, some crap Canadian vanilla ice cream and some chocolate sauce.

Leftover lentils and rice and aubergine mash (it tastes better than it sounds).

Chick pea curry

I made some spicy chili with pork tenderloin and black beans, (Cuban stew?) and rice. I enjoyed it so much I'll eat the other half today! :-)

Tonight it's tuna nicoise salad (now down to my last few tins of anchovies).

We have guests coming for dinner (first dinner party we've hosted since moving to Canada). On the menu, chicken pullao, aubergine bhorta, potato bhorta and a butternut squash and spinach curry. Fruit for afters. We are going to be eating leftovers for days!

Sounds lovely....but why are you down to your last few tins of anchovies? I bought them here yesterday, pretty bog standard jobs, didn't have a choice of oils etc, but anchovies nevertheless.

You should've let us know you were coming to town and we'd have sent out a welcoming committee (oh, hold on, perhaps you did and I missed the memo - been away for a while)

No worries , was a mad 4 days! Not a lot of downtime! Next year I will try to add a few days either end!

We had a Chinese take-away for our tea tonight. Egg fried rice, chicken chow mein and a horse dick (pancake roll).
