Re: Teatime Choices
That ketchup reminds me of yesterday. We still had a Tourtière pie left from Easter. I had a piece yesterday with a few dollops of HP Fruity sauce.
Yum yum, pig's bum. |

Bacon and shrimp pasta with (Classico) Milan/Vodka sauce.
Disappointed. So much better to have the Alfredo version. |
Re: Teatime Choices
Bungalow pie.
Same idea as cottage pie, but flatter with a suitably enlarged footprint. Topped with a parmesan crust. |

Readers with long memories will know this is to do with Joan Collins. |

Re: Teatime Choices
The womenfolk went to Walmart yesterday and amongst the other goodies they came back with were half price pork chops and boneless, skinless chicken thighs. A bit of each went into my MIL's chicken fried rice yesterday. Very nice as always. I can't get close to hers for taste.
There were three chops left so I did those for the others today while I was having a red Thai curry (thanks to a VH sauce jar - it's great). There were three thighs left that I didn't need for my curry. I gave them a liberal coating of https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/british...5876cccfa0.jpg and let them sizzle, opened out, on medium in a mix of extra virgin oil and butter, a few minutes each side. We all had a taste and all thought succulent, tender and lovely. Even my mother in law who would normally start pulling faces at the idea of something Indian because it would not only be very unusual but "too spicy." It was actually more savoury than spicy. Looking forward to having it properly, as the meal, next time. I can't get over the colour and texture of it. It was like perfectly cooked chicken breast. |
Re: Teatime Choices
I much prefer chicken thigh to chicken breast.
But I've mostly been eating fish these days. I had grilled pollock fillets on salad and with a side of kimchi last night, it was lovely. |
