Tomorrow, up early and my pilates/yoga session for penance.

No, my account has not been hacked. This is what happens to people when they turn 50

No worries, it'll pass. The pilates/yoga bit, not the turning 50 bit.

-------------

Our supper this evening was Nasty Goreng.

Nasty because idio-boy forgot to check the stocks before venturing in. :o

Did the rice last night as per caretaker's guideline, this afternoon chopped all veggies, sorted the meat, ready for assembly, went to the cupboard, to find that the cupboard was bare. :(

Having consumed a Leffe Ritual during the preparation phase, a trip to the local supermarket to obtain previously mentioned magic Nasi mix was a non-starter, so a bit of DIY needed in an attempt to create the spice mix. Tentative recipe for spice mix will be posted (or not) following tomorrow morning's debriefing.

Upcoming;

Saturday - no idea currently
Sunday - Saltimbocca alla Romana, we are expecting victi guests.

He does. He needs a new one though. He still likes his mirror too.

I have recently spotted a lone pekin drake by an inlet on my way to the nearby township. Likely someone dumped him there on the one too many drakes premis. I have been having *thinks* .

Go get him; if he'll follow feed you put down he's tame so just pick him up and run.

So. I went to get him. Parked up, stuck on the wellies, picked up the assorted treat type food and walked ages around the inlet to get close enough.

It was a goose. A lone goose. Complete with a honkity honk.

That'll teach me to not use my binoculars first.

Thing now is, where are the rest of his flock ? Husband thinks there is a flock not far away from there.

The past two evenings has been a salmon , white fish and prawn potato and vegetable bake. All sorts thrown in. It could make a third evening but MrBEVS ,who is not great with fish ,may throw his face a bit.

That went with the beetroot, walnut, blue cheese, tomato salad .

The last two weeks has seen the best salmon fishing I've ever experienced. I've must of caught over $10,000 worth of Chinook salmon. It's all getting processed. Some vacuum packed, some hot smoked, some candied and some cold smoked (lox).

I gotta live near you.

I love a hot smoke. There again I love a cold smoke. I don't know what candied is.

I'd spend a day doing that anytime.

That was Sunday and it was a little rainy. Candied salmon is heavily smoked and maple glazed.

Ooo. That looks a bit good.

I've been dithering on buying a small smoker. That might tip it.

If you have outdoor space that won't bother the neighbours you should absolutely get a smoker, its so easy. Just work out a nice brine.

Bami goreng, from scratch, just a tiny bit of help from Conimex.

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/british...e8565e35f9.png

Might look sad, tasted very un-sad.

Mushroom, onion, peppers, leek pre-sautêed BB style, add Conimex (Nasi mix instead of Bami, just for a giggle), north sea crevettes grises, Thai noodle nests cooked, cut to chopstick-friendly dimensions, wokked-up on high heat for 3 minutes and serve.

Chef's first taste "Oh crap I'll be in the doghouse for this one".

OH's first taste "Borderline hot for me, but yummy" followed by "Can I finish what's left in the wok?"

No soy sauce required.
