I don't see that (of course I wouldn't). Attaching a symbol to a minority so as to make it easy to single them out for special treatment is either reasonable or it isn't. It may be that the treatment meted out differs in severity from one group to another but the idea of an identifying symbol is the same.

I thought the direct purpose of this device was too
"make it easy to single them out for special treatment "
as they were/are getting special treatment and making it easy for them to get it seems rather logical

Im expecting to read in several weeks of trouble at one of these migrant places that give out free meals. Some migrants/refugees will be claiming that they went and there wasn't sufficient food or it had all gone. The centre will claim they gave out the food to anyone who showed up stating they were a refugee but were afraid to ask for proof that they were.
As very few if any will have ID on them how will you know who is a true refugee and who isn't?
If the UK Govt are giving them paperwork to show they have made a claim for asylum and are then required to show this documentation wouldn't that also smack of Nazi symbolism of PAPERS PLEASE?
Anybody else got a better suggestion?

Since when did food become special treatment?

Or do you mean special treatment such as abuse and harassment which is what happens when you identify someone as different?

It worries me that your wife is a teacher and in charge of shaping young minds, if she shares your political ideology and lack of empathy then heaven help your children and her class of children.

Well, yes, if you stick a label "scrounging bogus refugee claimant, never suffered nothing, just here for the benefits" on people they are likely to run into trouble with passers-by. That's less of a problem with "papers" which, nowadays, would likely take the form of some sort of identity card. I accept that people may get a kicking just for looking foreign but there's no need to set them up for it.

Ugh the man who has raised child poverty to new levels and trying to kill the NHS, that stifled reports of unsafe staff levels in the NHS. Way to go.

Hardly going to win any awards on humanitarian grounds.

It won't be by my vote, but given his opposition
he'd have to be caught on live TV red handed molesting an underage piglet for labour to stand a chance under its current leadership

So many more borderline unpleasant polices to come

There's a huge difference between satisfying those who need to know and being identified to all and sundry.

A quick Google search brings up many a different interpretation of what wearing a red wristband means

Red string one Kabbalah

Medical alert red bracelet means Allergy

Red string again
The red, braided string bracelet traditionally worn by Hindus is known as kalava. In most cases, wearing kavala simply symbolizes an allegiance to the Hindu faith.

Red Bracelet well take your pick from this lot
RED:
HIV/AIDS, ALS, Blood Disorders, Blood Donors, Congenital Heart Defects, Diabetes, Firefighters, Head and Neck Cancer, Heart Disease, Hemophilia, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (M.A.D.D) , Substance Abuse and Von Willebrand Disease

A red wristband shows you're against frivolous lawsuits. (Wear it combined with a lime-green one to show everyone you're doubly pissed off and are not going to take it anymore.)
• A red wristband shows you're a John Kerry supporter.
• A red wristband also shows you're against kids smoking cigarettes. (Wear both to show you believe that John Kerry, while a good man, wants to hook your kids on tobacco.)

Or, according to a disputed article in the New York Post, any of these could signal to others that you're willing to perform certain sexual favours.

I tend just to wear a wrist watch though it is black. Mmmmm what am I displaying?

Perhaps one might want to read this article on ID cards as in 2009 the UK wanted to make them mandatory but it was quashed.

I didn't the see one about enabling the targeting of refugees. Maybe next year.

Thatcher wanted ID cards for football fans some time ago.

This sort of thing should be of much more concern to any reasonable person than a few red wristbands.....
