I see that KP has retired from international ODI and T20 matches. I didn't see that one coming. At least he'll still play tests which is good for England imo. Still a bit of a shocker.

So who would you rather have sitting in the pavilion playing cards during the rain - Anderson or Finn ?
I bet Jimmy is a mean player of Snap, whereas Finn's extra height could be useful in 3 card brag.

Well after the inevitable but entertaining Windies series it feels like the real cricket has started today with the Aus ODi series and then SA coming to town. The summer has now started. It seems that Trott is winding Lee something cronic

It was, although if Big Tim had held on to the c&b off Clarke, we'd have finished them off a lot quicker.

Morgan proves a point - he *can* play the odi stuff, in England at least

Morgan was the difference, MOM. I wasn't up at the beginning of England's innings but apparently conditions were bad for batting so I think England did really well.

aww...the rain spoiled the fun of beating Australia in ODIs.

Bang goes the chance to be #1 in all 3 formats

The only good news is that Jimmy A seems to have recovered from his strain.

It was really frustrating today. I'm really just waiting for SA in the tests.

Absolutely ! One day nonsense is merely hors d'oeuvres for the main event.

Cricket season as been noted is still here. And, in fact the series against South Africa will probably be the most competitive on home soil for a while. I think its fair to say in the first test, England won the first day and SA the second. Hopefully, our bowlers will come out tomorrow and get some early wickets others I can see Smith and Co putting the game beyond reach.

On a side note, I wish Bresnan wasn't such good batsman or we'd have Finn in. And whatever happened to Tremlet, still injured?

I do not understand playing Bresnan at all. He is not a bad bowler, probably the 6th best seamer in the country but if we only play 3 seamers the best 3 have to be played. Broad and Swann are a more than capable 8 and 9.
