Friend not coming from Ottawa til tomorrow, snow is waist deep there she said. Buses not guaranteed to arrive.

That gives me another day to tidy up, phew

OH is off to shovel snow again, Mr Plow has been by and kindly built fortifications at the end of the drive. The snow heaps are so big the kids are out toboganning on them and its started to snow again.

So I am off to put the beef rib joint in the oven and peel veggies for a roast dinner with yorkshire puds

It's lucky that Mr666 is under several feet of snow, otherwise I'm sure he'd be on that remark like a ton of bricks.

Do you know the place of origin of your creme fraiche?

Remarkable how a bit of snow stars gives everyone extra time for gourmandry eh?

That reminds me. What's for dinner? I suppose I'd better start thinking about it.

I don't know where the cow is I'm afraid, I got it at the Olympic cheese stand at the St Lawrence market, it's in the cabinet opposite the feta.

(I always go to the Olympic because they're very friendly and have been giving my autistic daughter free cheese samples since she was a babe in arms. I expect any of the competing stands can sell you the same thing).

So probably not from France? That's what I've been looking for.

12 h.p, Electric Start, snow canopy, made short work of those huge drifts.

Main snow not bad, but in Georgian Bay we get high, high winds, and they create terrific snow drifts.

Hopefully by tomorrow, roads will be clear, have to be in the O.R by 7.a.m.

Probably not. It's not going to be very fraiche by the time it's come from France, is it?

We'd been looking for creme fraiche and finally found it here in Montreal under the liberty brand.

Don't know if it is available everywhere?

I buy their quark in supermarkets here (SW Ontario) but I've never seen their creme fraiche on sale.

Not too cold by Canadian standards - only -7 C

(that's minus seven degrees celsius)
