Two nice sunny days here. Rain tonight and tomorrow,

At least 5 days next week promise to be warm and sunny in the day, but darn right cool overnight!

Meanwhile, 50 summer forest fire fighters have been called into work to help with flood prevention procedures in the Okanagan, and possibly with flood relief in a week or so ..... all in the areas that were devastated by the fires last year so there is little vegetation cover on slopes to prevent land slips.

I think we'll be waiting a while longer to take a trip over the mountain pass(es) and into that area!

I'm still looking at white fields. The road is clear and there are some patches of visible gravel on the driveway but it's still well below freezing. In short, no.

If we hit 18 or 20 today it should melt most of the remaining snow.

The tyre tracks on the drive have melted but not the big heap of ice in between them. I now have something rattling underneath my car. . Pigging winter just keeps on giving.

Getting out still requires putting the tyres in the grooves and speeding up for the big pile of ice left by the plough. I can advise that a new Ford truck exhaust is $1200. A price that's in my mind each time I scrape and bash my way out.

Oh, you can't stop barbecuing for the weather! I still make pulled pork in February. It takes longer so I have to get up at five to start the chimney. A surprising number of shops sell charcoal all year so I'm not alone.

When we lived in NJ the first job after a snowfall was to clear a path to the BBQ. Sadly we can’t have a BBQ on the balcony of our condo.
