Regina has a high of 28 today, then a cooling trend bringing a Wednesday night low of 1, normal Saskatchewan weather.

thank you for the reminder, we know that's an option but it would only work for part of the house as our generator is 3000W. Anyway because you've posted this I've spoken to the old man and he'll talk to people. Maybe something will happen.

I sat at my laptop with a powerful fan pointing at me and I was "wearing" a wet towel on my head.

You don't need to avoid the heat here presently, it's been a rainy 12 today and getting down to 2 tonight...I knew it was too early to buy bedding plants

Or maybe a window fan with reverse on it - would suck the heat out, it might help a bit.. I have a friend who relies on these all summer, she has no air con in her house... combined with a standing fan, she finds it helps a lot for sleeping.

I agree Siouxie. I have a window a.c. unit in my bedroom and it's fantastic...they have come down a lot in price and weight over the last few years - even when, it finally, gets boiling here we always have one room that is pleasant.

Special weather statement promising snow for some parts of Newfoundland Wednesday night. Long weekend was nice though, low teens and the merest hints that we'll shortly be entering "bloody blackfly season" :-)

You AXare amazing...I'd be a quivering heap by now...people just outside Freddie tell me that they are already swamped by Blackflies, apparently it's because of all of the water - the airport in Fredericton have been sending crop dusters out all over for the last week trying to get the mozzies, and I was only out on the Verandah last night with the dog for a second and three June bugs showed up

35cm+ apparently. Fortunately here it has just been bloody cold and windy. There were a few flurries while I was walking the dog earlier but I think we'll miss anything requiring shovelling/plowing.
Leaves are starting to come out on the trees though. Which is nice.
