Haha - nice one.

Are all criticisms aimed at those of a different race racist?

Here is a definition from Dictionary.com

rac·ism
[rey-siz-uhm]
noun
1.
a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2.
a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3.
hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

I think we have covered 1 and 2 quite comprehensively above.

So, if I have understood what you are saying correctly, the way the Canadian Government treats First Nations is racist?

Is is also racist to criticize those of another race if, for example, they appear to be acting in a corrupt fashion?

Considering all humans are from the same species I think the use of the term race is somewhat naive at best. What you're really criticizing are taxonomies of ethnicity and culture. Now if we cold get few Neanderthals bred then you could really tear into them with impunity.

Yes. I struggle to see how it can be described as anything else.

I suspect you know perfectly well but for the sake of playing along ...

Someone I used to know put it this way. "I don't mind being call a **** because I can be a bit of a **** at times. I don't like being called a black **** because I can't stop being black, and the speaker obviously thinks that being black and a **** is somehow worse than just being a ****."

Criticizing a First Nations chief for being corrupt (if in fact they are) is not racist. Assuming that someone accused of corruption is actually corrupt simply because there is some characteristic of First Nations that makes them likely to be corrupt is racist. Designing public policy based on that assumption is too.

Note that I am not suggesting that you said this.

Sitting at a Red Light

I was sitting at a long red light yesterday, minding my own business, patiently waiting for it to turn green even though there was no on-coming traffic.

A carload of young, loud First Nations, shouting anti- Canadian slogans, with a half-burned Canadian flag duct-taped on the trunk of their car and a "Get out of our land" slogan spray painted on the side, pulled up next to me.

Suddenly they yelled, Idle no more and took off before the light changed. Out of nowhere an 18-wheeler semi trailer laden with house bricks came speeding through the intersection and ran directly over their car, crushing it completely and killing everyone in it.

For several minutes I sat in my car thinking to myself, "Man... That could have been me!"

So today, bright and early, I went out and got a job as a truck driver.

The irony of these two sentences side-by-side is quite wonderful.
