Most likely caused to be extinct in the first place by first nations in europe/asia/north america using their sustainable hunting techniques..........

Imagine how many economy beefburgers you could get out of a woolly mammoth.

This can't be that difficult. They could just use an elephant as a surrogate after all. Any scientists meddling with things they don't understand should realize you need mammoths first so that the Neanderthals have something to do.

Anyway...I'm not 100% clear on the issues but I do know this. The First Nations seem pretty disadvantaged from everything I've seen. This is similar to indigenous people in other former British colonies like NZ and Oz and the USA. So, yeah. Something should be done. What I don't know. The current system clearly isn't working.
THis article in the Toronto Sun should shed some light

That is an excellent point. Also, I wonder if the scientists have given any thought to what will happen when Mr. Neanderthal feels some stirrings in his loins... will they send him on some Sexual Equality Awareness course? I fear for his liberty if he just bops the nearest woman on the head and drags her off to his cave by the hair.

Well if they made a nice Neanderthal lady that wouldn't be so much of a problem.

Anyway, I saw on BBC's Walking with Cavemen that there were lots of humany-style species thousands of years ago. So why stop at the Neanderthals.

There was one lot of humanlings who really liked eating bamboo shoots, for instance.

You think? I know they're not supposed to be very bright, but I don't think he'd be daft enough to ignore all the quality young modern totty in yoga pants and make do with a hairy Ann Widdecombe clone.

It'd be pretty funny if you taught them to speak in a Geordie accent. Though to be fair it would probably solve the finding a girlfriend issue.

I'm assuming that they would be born with a Geordie accent already.
