Random stuff - the anything else thread

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I made a gin and tonic and thought of the Gin Drinker's Line in Hong Kong, and my friend's late dad (and I guess my friend) George who was a Winnipeg Grenadier captured in Dec '41 and spent the next almost 5 years working like a slave and starving somewhere near Osaka. What a nice man. Time for gin number 3. Cheers, George!

Canada needs commercials like that.
Too many decades of telling young people college is the only way, and look now there is a lack of qualified trades people in many trades.

Canada needs more tech workers too it seems.
52% of the businesses surveyed reported not being confident in finding the talent they need in Canada.

My sister worked for Bristol Myers in NJ and occasionally had to work the drug filling line. It is far too easy for something to go wrong with the bottles, vials, etc. and the entire batch will have to be discarded. One vial with black parcels is not something that screams "tracking" device.

I found a little piece of black rubber in a bottle of beer once, phoned the brewery, and they asked if I would save the bottle and the box it came in. A man from Molson's came around within a couple of hours with a case of beer for me.

Not a tracking device. These particles are helpful microchips designed so that we can serve as data transmitters for 5G networks. And so that our bodies attract keys. Would actually be quite helpful. Now wish I got Moderna

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
This was on a reddit topic today, pretty cool photos from Vancouver from a different era, however my question is about photo # 5 Hotel American, but that part isn't what I am curious about, its the signs that say men and ladies, it doesn't appear to be rest room door, and well I can't think of why they would need to specify men and ladies on exterior sign to what appears to be an entrance door.
Vancouver looked like a much cleaner city back then compared to now, and certainly far less homeless it appears.
