Imagine getting 55,000 statements from a company all the same, and not only did they mess up by sending out 55,000 of them, the statements were not even correct.

More housing issues, seems more and more city's are having affordable housing crises especially for anyone on disability. Time to either build a lot of social housing in all the major city's or increase disability housing allowances to they match reality and not an arbitrary amount set decade or more ago.
BC for example still seems to think disabled can find housing for $375 per month.

The company also apologized for that mistake and said, a bit ominously, that they would send another statement.

Bit like the senior people who have a meal at the local community centre. I volunteer there and was evaluating the fire evacuation plan - fire alarm duly activated, staff moving around the tables reminding people there's a fire alarm (apparently eating makes you deaf), asking them to move outside immediately. The old folk tucking into their lunch were supremely unconcerned, only pausing their chomping to ask 'is it a real fire or just a drill?'.
With my stopwatch ticking the staff became increasingly insistent - 'you have to evacuate the premises NOW!'. So one by one the patrons dawdled out - carrying their plates of lunch. Honestly, they'd have all been burnt to a crisp if it had been a 'real fire'!

Loved the way the police officer handled it, he gave it to the staff member straight didn't he
. 'People have to eat'? Unbelievable!

this is a log building , so flammable that the staff are actually trained as firefighters in case anything happens.
eating breakfast one morning, alarm goes off. proper "you need to evacuate" alarm.
Ben and I evacuate, obviously. Nice staff member explains that they have to meticulously check every single area because of the high risk nature of the building
20 minutes later , firefighters in full breathing apparatus are still having to persuade guests to actually leave the damn building
I was furious , these morons are putting firefighters lives at risk

similar story when we stayed in the old faithful inn at yellowstone.

Happens everytime the alarm goes off in our building very few leave but then we have so many false alarms people just ignore it now it seems.
Had a few alarms go off in hotels I I worked at, very few people ever evacuated which is a pain luckily never a fire.
Guess when people dont smell.smoke and dont see smoke and fire their brains dont trigger it as a risk. But dunno prettty commom for general public to ignore fire alarms.
Had a few while working at airports but they dont actually want you to evacuate straight away generally the recording asks people to stay in place while they investigate which makes sense as its an airport and if people start to blindly evacuate onto the ramp it becomes a total mess really quick.

Just emailed a ski chalet company ahead of our trip to let them know my daughter is vegetarian. Got a reply back: "Does she eat fish? Lots of vegans eat fish."
