I agree it isn't but differential charging as per passenger weight/vastness of backside is a different issue. The carry on luggage brigade are deliberately trying to avoid fees by their actions. Their carry on luggage was massive initially but they ate most of the contents in the departures lounge

I hate trying to think of things to buy people for Christmas. I don't want to give anything that isn't really liked / wanted - a gift for the sake of it - nor do I want to give vouchers, but of course nobody is giving me any hints or ideas.

I so wanted to get it all done by the end of the month.. but I haven't got a thing yet.

Sometimes it's a bit pointless. I'd buy the record my brother wanted and he'd buy the one I wanted. So we just bought our own records instead.

My nan would open her present as if it was what she always wanted and then one year I saw them all at the back of a cupboard.

Last year I suggested we all just go out for meals through the winter instead and I think that worked well.

30-ish years ago my step-mum asked me what I wanted as a Christmas present. I asked for pyjamas. She gave me an embroidered satin nightie.

30-ish years later, she still sends me variations on that theme...

I've asked for handknitted socks this year.

Years ago I received a lot of grief from my in-laws when in answer to the usual question, what do you want, I replied a lot of sandpaper. They eventually came up with the goods saying things like 'it's not a real present' but I was really pleased. I like working in wood.

I have a friend, my age, not nearly as lucky as I am in terms of what his parents give him, not helped by the divorced parents who both have crazy new spouses, anyway he doesn't have a part time job as yet so pretty much has no money, maybe a $20 here and there leftover from birthday money, but his family still expects him to go out and buy xmas cards and gifts for everyone. How he's supposed to do that with <$50 to his name has always been beyond me

In my family its always been said that nothing's expected until i'm independent and have a career.

I just send Christmas cards to my parents and sister. My parents usually send something gift wise they know neither my sister or myself can spend big on Christmas and they don't expect anything.

My sister though had kids so she buys them a couple things for Christmas.
