Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
You should try being in a bank when 3 robbers (with guns) come in ..........
........... everyone disappears as soon as the robbers leave with the money, and before the police arrive  Myself and a man who had been outside the bank during the robbery, saw the getaway car and the direction it went were the only 2 left (out of about 15 people), and willing to talk to the police |

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Never been in a bank robbery, did have someone once some into the lobby of the hotel I was working at and try and steal the ATM, never said anything to me, just walked in and started hitting the ATM with a sledgehammer, took the police like 20 minutes to arrive, only injury was to the ATM. One thing I hated about night audit sometimes was being completely alone, if only people realized how little cash hotels have, very very few people pay with cash, and the till might be $100 at best.
Despite being on camera clear as day, the charges were dropped against the guy. Apparently our fire alarm excitement today was caused by smoke caused by a cooking oil truck picking up used oil from the restaurant. |

I even ended up having the rifle pointed directly at me because I'd lifted my head, thinking "try to get a good look at them so you can tell the police something". Daft beggar that I am!! The guy saw me, pointed the rifle and said "Get that head or I shoot". I put my head down pretty rapidly! As it happened, I did see one man jump over a lower area of the counter (where they could deal with people in wheelchairs), putting one hand on a window frame as he did so. I was pretty angry with them at the time ............... I was on a very tight time schedule to get money from the bank, get downtown to spend time with a close friend in palliative care, and get home for a visitor, all by bus. As it happened, it took the police so long to come and then later for me to get to another branch of the bank to get the money that I didn't get to the hospital that day. I learnt later that that the police got a footprint from the counter and part of a hand print from the window frame. A detective phoned me almost 2 years later to ask if he could show me some photos of possibles. THAT was difficult! The only part of their faces that was exposed was their eyes!!! I picked one because there seemed something distinctive about the eyes and coverings. I was notified about 6 months later that I was to be a witness in a court case against them ................... but luckily the guys all pleaded guilty the day before the case was to take place. I was actually dreading going into court because I had developed cataracts in the intervening time, was waiting for an operation, and would not have been able to recognise someone standing 6' away from me let alone across a court room |

Sometimes I wish I was business oriented and could have a fish store or something, would not really work where we live but in some places it would, best to buy an existing profitable store though. Either way its a high overhead business, but at least those folks do something they like.

Reddit must be a lot of skilled workers in the Vancouver sub, always talking like a couple making $100,000 a year is easy and acting as if its easy peasy to earn $50,000 a year each...
If we would earn 50,000 each, we would be living the high life lol |

Earning $50,000 each is not a good salary, imho, for someone with a college education and/or a highly skilled worker. If that is before taxes, then it is not your take home income.
Besides, haven't you learned not to believe everything personal that someone posts, especially when talking about money? Median household income in Vancouver is $67,000. $50,000 pre-tax is around 39,000 after tax but before any other deductions like union dues, extended health, parking and other possible employer benefits. Need to make about 67,000 pre-tax a year to take home 50,000 after tax. This is assuming no deductions or other tax credit someone may have. Doesn't matter, I am not skilled, and barely even employable anymore. Just a trend I noticed on reddit, so many acting like 50,000 is an easy to obtain anyone can do it wage. |

A vandal tenant opened fire firefighting pipe in the stairwell and flooded 15 apartments plus a Tim Hortons. We actually tried to move into this building as the rent is $300 lower vs our current rent, its not far from where we currently live. Just opened in January,.

Hadn't realized that you were still in the US. Glad you got to spend so much time with your family. Hope you are feeling better for it.
I came back 1st of March and missed the super bloom, should have planned the trip a couple weeks later. The trip was okay for the most part. Would much prefer to live there though lol So much more to do there overall compared to Vancouver. |

F.Y.I - You pee on a jellyfish sting...not a jelly stain.
Again, my apologies to the woman at the Waffle House this morning. |
