My (Canadian born and bred) stepdaughter (28) asked a question earlier. I wasn't sure if she was saying gee kee ay or g-k-a at first but when clarified she was asking "what's GTA?"

I answered...then an afterthought. How come I know that and you don't? I probably picked it up on BE.

The latter. I don't think I've seen the other one as an abbrev. ;)

It has new floor covering. Nice shiny mirrors and the pool facility is now pristine.

Quack!

mirrors?

Gas prices are getting crazy high, some stations at 1.67, most others in the low 1.60 range it seems, station close to us went from $1.49 this morning, and an hour later was at 1.61.

Two. :D

Woobie drake is a widower. He is a very elderly duck now at 12 + years old. He doesn't sometimes see and hear so well. He has mirrors and a decoy duck or two for company. Our pusscat sits with him and he keeps company with me when I am toiling in the garden altohugh that is in the hope of digging up something tasty.

Just noticed, my drivers license expired this year on my birthday. oops. I don't drive anymore so not a huge issue, need to see how long I have to renew before having to do start from scratch, can't renew it at the moment.

Petrocan at W. 41st and Oak (ie, west side of Vancouver) was $1.61.9 at ca 10:15 am this morning.

It was $1.57.9 at ca 12:15 pm

Petrocan is usually the most expensive of the gas stations around

A few weeks ago the police drove past as I was starting my van, then waited around the corner and pulled me over as I drove past. My 5 year license didn't fly for 5 1/2 years... $150 ticket.

 Ums . No.

Woo is actually from the Chinaman in Deadwood. First thing Woobie did when he arrived was to scoff most all of the monarch butterfly caterpillars on our swan plants.

They can be. When I used to work at 4am, I would pass 3 gas stations that were open at that hour, and Petro was 99% of the time a good 10 cents more. I passed a Shell, Petro, and Husky, I think it was Husky. When I had my scooter I always went to Chevron, easiest to get to and closest to home.

That sucks. Ever since I sold my scooter last year, I haven't driven really. It's too stressful to drive a car in Vancouver, so yeah I never actually drive, only keep the license for when I am not in Vancouver, rent a car, plus not having a license further restricts what kind of jobs you can do.

During Christmas season 2017, when I would be on my way to work VPD would have this road block 1/2 block after my left turn to get to work, every time 3-4 blocks later, I would get pulled over for "avoiding" their road block, not my fault they put the road block after the intersection I needed to turn left at, I always had my work clothes on, airport ID on, so always sent me on my quickly once establishing I was going to work and had been sleeping for the prior 8-9 hours.

This was posted in the Vancouver reddit today, I thought it was amusing.

No. She was BooBoo Duck. In the early years she would sit among a certain clump of white flowers and then pop her head up to quack .

MrBEVS was always challenged when asked to call the ducks . Woobie and BooBoo did not trip off his tongue so well.

I will look out some old pics of them both.
