Oh the TV in the photo, haven't seen one of those since I was very young.

I think ours was the model in lower left of this ad. Bonanza and Ed Sullivan after walking home from Church.

Amazing what TV's were like back in the day.

We had something like this during my very early years.

and then something like this

Zenith Television Set Model Unknown

Can't remember what we had in the 90's though.

It's times like this I wish I was in San Diego. I find Vancouver an incredibly boring city, and not a whole lot to do. Stanley Park and Sea Wall get boring after a few times.

Kamloops is having crazy long waits for ultrasounds. Shortage of qualified workers. 2,500 patients booked with another 1,800 waiting for an appointment.

I am getting a non-urgent ultrasound in Vancouver as a comparison and only waiting 2 weeks.

I've gotten used to just taking my requisitions for x-ray and ultrasound to Mayfair Diagnostic 2 blocks from work and getting in without an appointment. It's a private company with 13 locations in Calgary and 1 in Regina. Longest I've ever had to wait was less than a half hour. My guess is the dept of health finds it easier to contract out to Mayfair for those things and LifeLabs for blood and specimen work than trying to run it themselves.

Yeah mine is booked at West Coast imaging, not with a hospital. I am sure the hospitals do it, but the doctors requisitions never have hospital listed, and I just call the closest clinic to me on the list the doctor provides.

I go to life labs as its in the same building we live in, so literally just have to go down 1 level and there, but I know VGH does have outpatient lab you can go to if you desire, but most people likely live/work closer to a life lab location, although a few times the doctor has asked me to go to the hospital lab instead, never asked why though. When I lived in Squamish the only lab was at the hospital, same with X-ray more advanced imaging had to go to Vancouver or Whistler.

Seems the issue in Kamloops is a shortage of qualified Medical Sonographers.

LifeLabs can have a considerable wait time (especially if you're in for fasting bloodwork) early in the morning, and people are usually lined up outside. They have a new thing there now; an electronic sign saying how long the estimated wait currently is, and I think there's an option to register then have them text you when your number is getting close, so you can go shopping in the mall instead of just sitting still.

Yeah they can, I find the one I go to is busiest on Monday, by Wed the wait times are usually 15 min or less. I generally make an appointment though, and I never rush at opening even with fasting, if I need to fast for 10 hours, I stop eating and drinking at midnight and go in at 10, presto no wait.

That's probably okay if getting up at 9. But I'm usually up around 7.

The idea of being up and not being able to eat or have a cup of coffee for three hours is horrible.

I usually go to bed at 12am-1am and up around 9-10am. Unless I set an alarm, I will typically sleep 9-10 hours before waking naturally.

But I also don't typically eat anything in the morning, and I don't drink coffee or tea so can manage if I need to wait, I have no appetite, but I try to force myself to eat later in the day.

In Ontario, and B.C. I believe, Life Labs has a reservation service which I use whenever I need to have blood tested. Works very well for me. I reserve my appointment online, turn up to a crowded waiting room, bypass those waiting, provide 8 vials of blood and am out in 15 Minutes

This guy is living the dream. I would live to have a fish room and such large tanks. (he is one of the most popular fish folks on youtube.)

This looks like an interesting show.

I was looking at job listings in Edmonton, and came across one for the hotel I worked at in 2006-2007 when I lived there, pay being offered is the same exact they were paying in 2006, crazy how wages don't seem to move.

It's 3:00am already, I don't think Mother's Day's brunch is going to go that well. :(
