Maybe one day. The biggest reason I was thinking to move back was for a house. Far more likely to be able to own a house in the US vs Canada. I also prefer a fixed 20 or 30 payment vs having to renew every few years. Also more affordable options in the US.
I am just so tired of living in apartments and having unstable housing. Renting in Canada is not fun, leads to unstable housing. I have moved on average once a year, our current place is the longest at 2 years but we cant afford the rent, we just cant find anything we can afford.

I don't know anything about Vancouver or rental properties there, but I'm interested in real estate so I had a squiz. I think you pay $1,700 per month rent - would something like this be better? https://www.zumper.com/apartments-fo...ge-richmond-bc Like I say, I have no idea so it could be in a dodgy area or on a dodgy website
We have applied for some places in the 1,400-1,500 range which while lower is not affordable but better, thus far though we have not been approved for any we have applied to.

Am I right in thinking that you are an American Citizen living in Canada as a PR with a Canadian Wife? You would prefer to move back to the USA with your Wife but you cannot right now as she doesn't have US papers and the US health care is too expensive for you both? Is that the gist of your situation?

JS can't afford to be her sponsor has he needs savings of appropriate 50,000 USD. The fees for the immediate relative visa, and the medical, would cost about $2,000. Then there is the moving costs and set up costs for housing, utilities, etc.
Being in the lower finance bracket, they might be eligible for free healthcare in some states. But before he gets that far, he needs a bankroll.

It's funny, I say that all the damn time. I'll just get a job driving a van, or I'll get a job stacking shelves at Costco, but at the end the day, they all have elements of stress.

Of course some are just less stress vs others. Driving for instance would be off the charts stress for me, stocking less stress but doesn't pay enough.

We are not likely to get a job anywhere in advance, low skill and no reason for employers to fuss with out of town applicants. We have disability so that will get us by until one of us found a part time job to supplement it.

If it doesn't work out to your liking long term, it might at least enable you to save something for the future?

At this point we just need to go somewhere in BC with lower rent, 1,000 is still a good amount, but better then 1,750.

I have applied at Pacific Coastal so many times lol
In a pinch Pac Coastal is a quick way to Vancouver for sure. I would work there if I could get hired or even just an interview.
