I lack ambition; I don't deny it, but this guy really makes me feel lazy. If you showed a time lapse video of me over the past 60 days it wouldn't look like this.

Foodora is exiting the Canadian market, never used them, but one less food delivery app.

Canada is a tough place it seems for some businesses, car sharing is another that seems to struggle here.

I've never used either food or car sharing apps, but today when I went to pick up subs from the Vietnamese restaurant, in the time it took me to get my order 2 Skip the Dishes drivers grabbed their stuff and ran out.

I have a feeling they don't want to deal with the union drive going on, so easier to pull of Canada altogether, Canada is a small market in the big picture, and I doubt any of these app companies can survive in a union environment or even if they had to pay min wage.

Car sharing is popular in Vancouver, but BC is a tough place to run a transportation business and seems the business model doesn't work with the regulations in BC for some of the companies.

I use Skip. Works well. No app, though, just the website. It usually works well.

For some reason I was unable to 'find' the Indian Restaurant I wanted yesterday (for today). It was either no sign of them or, bizarrely, googling the name and the Skip site did then find them but they were "not delivering" at the selected time no matter what the selected time/day was.

It wasn't simply because they were not open at the time I was on the site because there were plenty others in that situation too and they would take it.
I contacted the restaurant to tell them and they were going to look into it. Fortunately, today, it's all fixed and we have a feast arriving later which should do more than just tonight. :fingerscrossed:

I took a look at Doordash and they had the same restaurant, but zero description of what the food was.

Something I noticed on some hobby forums I go to.

The US centered ones are more pleasent places, more friendly and less bickering.

The Canadian centered ones are less pleasent, more bickering/name calling, and less friendly.

For anyone interested....

It's not something I ever used - except for the chip shop curry - but I just noticed on Walmart that Bisto gravy mixes are there.
I'm not sure if this has been posted before.

I get Batchelor’s Mushy Peas, Pickled Onions, Branston (finer chopped for sandwiches) from Walmart, plus a few other British goods.

Well I wont be ordering from this company anymore, a small pet related business, $200 min order, or $50 in shipping, only in Canada would a company not want business.

"Effective immediately, all orders under $200 will incur a $50 shipping fee (rather than the standard $9.99-$14.99 rate). "

Talking of British food that you miss.....British Chinese curry.....oooh I so miss that! However....... for those who enjoy that too, I have found the solution, its as close as close can get, Id say 98% close!

I buy this from any British shop....its so good... I do my "house special curry" with this mix now, consisting of; chicken, beef, pork, shrimp and mushrooms....I cant get enough of it! Highly recommended served with my own egg fried rice and and a small bowl of McCains steak cut oven chips....they taste very similar to Chinese take out chips!

The umtimate comfort meal!!

And YOU have been waiting 'quite' how long to tell me this Monsieur?

I would (I think) have been buzzing along to Moncton...at least once a year...a more boring drive has never been imagined...but...I was very impressed by what they sell...although I just liked Quebec lots too.

I hadn't thought anything of it really. I've been in supermarkets in Quebec (I lived there for 9 months) - admittedly not since 2005 - Loblaws there seemed no different to Superstore here, so I didn't think IGA would be either.

It was only yesterday I discovered they delivered and saw what they had. I made an order and then made up that "shopping list" for you.

I pass the place when I go to Darkest Dieppe for regular eye checks, so I may drop in after my next appointment at the end of May. We'lll probably be in masks by then.

This really makes no sense,to make room for homeless people, people living in at one hotel in Victoria are being kicked out and now homeless. Seems backwards.

https://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/e...ring-1.4919822

BC Housing says they will work to find housing for those being kicked out.

A nan’s response when when you’re visiting her in a home. “Naff you unless you’re bringing me an eight ball of high grade cocaine, a bottle of Dom Perignon and a decent Cuban cigar, you can take your visit and shove it up your arse.

You can tell Ikea isn't set up for online ordering well, minimum 6 weeks for delivery.

I dont want to take the risk. I know it could possibly arrive sooner, but I am not willing to risk a 6 week wait either.

It’s now 4:30 and I’ve given up on sleep...for the last hour and a half I’ve had 15 kgs of trembling crying dog lying on top of me...we are having quite an active system down the Eastern Seaboard...thunder, rain and mixed precipitation (which sounds chilly) for the next few days. My last dog was impervious to thunder, but this poor soul takes it very personally.
