Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Really alarming for those whose English is a bit shaky. They got my son a bit alarmed a few months ago...he thought it was a scam, but was not sure. My elderly neighbour gets worried with this stuff too.
I generally notice that Canadians are often utterly useless at speaking to non first language English people. They don't slow down at all, they don't pause or give them time to catch up, but just shout it a bit louder, that happens here at any rate, and they wonder why we have a problem with immigrant retention.

I agree. It depends on the person, their personal communication style, and their exposure to foreign speakers. Nothing to do with nationalities.

Sexism, Ageism, racism all alive and well in my place of work, comment from Manager yesterday: We are never hiring a guy again, or at least, if we do he's got to be white and no more High School kids.
Not the 1st time she's come out with this kind of thing and it never fails to shock me. The business is service industry, minimum wage, you will only attract unskilled, 2nd job, or working for something to do people, or someone like me that is too busy to have a full time job but still wants to earn some pennies.

The writing was on the wall for years.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I used to get about two emails a year but lately it's been 2 or 3 times a week.
I was hoping one of the offers was a power recliner but not so far and I wouldn't risk it now.
However, if the number of emails was an indication of going bust, goodye Amazon, Staples and BestBuy.

If political correctness has gone mad do you think at some stage it will go full circle and at some stage we will be able to identify people again?
