I had to wear one 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for a month. I feel your pain!

Is it one that can 'clip on' to a top or trews? If so, put on jogging bottoms or similar or a top that is thicker, double the material over a bit and clip it on in the centre at the front - either mid chest or mid belly, lol.. shouldn't interfere with your sleep that way. :)

Clothing in bed?
Spoiler:
Not me

It's okay if I just lay it down next to me, but for me the issue is waking and knowing it's going to go shortly and being awake until it goes and then 40 minutes later the same thing happens. I spend as much as 20 minutes every hour anticipating the next squeeze.

Ugh sorry - misread your original post - didn't realise it's the blood pressure one.. :(
Mine was an ECG one that had a blackberry phone with it for onward transmission every couple of hours.
Yes, the blood pressure one would be very annoying!
Hope you manage to get some sleep :)

Worst thing the last time I was in hospital was the blasted blood pressure machine.

I would just fall asleep and damn thing would go off waking me up.

That and the heart thingers would come lose and the machine would freak out.

In Vancouver's West Side, you need to earn $450,000/year to buy and maintain a house. Median income there is $65,000

Most 'affordable' area is Maple Ridge, where income gap for a house is $35,000

https://www.citynews1130.com/2018/09...ncouver-homes/

There are 7 markets where a median income earner could buy a condo, Vancouver is not on the list.

Our income is around 60% under the median, so I think its safe to say we have no future in this region.

Why is it when life is pretty crap we start looking at moving back to the UK? I thought we had decided on Ontario, but I think that we has changed to I.

After our recent trip, I thought wow far too busy and we couldn't afford it anyway, however Mr Piff thinks Norfolk would be the answer, brainstorming resulted in me saying how about a car import business? Well that got cogs turning. I still like the little house on a lake and lots of travelling idea myself.

Replace the K with an S for me. I do thing same but instead of thinking of going to the UK, its the US.

My wife wants to move to Switzerland, but I am not keen on living in Europe anywhere, prefer this side of the world, just not above the 49th parallel.

I grew up in the Norfolk/Suffolk border and my folks and one sister still live there. While I couldn’t wait to get away when I left school, I now think it would be an entirely decent place to live we’re we ever to consider moving back across the pond.

I lived in Norwich for almost two years when I was a young thing. I have nothing but fond memories of the place so I'm not wholly against Norfolk in any shape or form. But I am really wanting to give Ontario a go.

Donald Trump tweeted this today
3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000...

Today, 14 years after arriving in Canada, I heard my first Canadian 'eh' that was said naturally rather than for humour or some other effect.

"Beautiful day, eh?" said the woman to me while I was waiting for my taxi outside Superstore.

Quite unremarkable and exactly the same use as I've heard many a time back in England. Why is it considered Canadian?

Because it is a commonly used term in Canada.... there's no accounting for your experience since I might hear it 50 times after work in the bar.

It's not only my lack of experiencing its use here though, it's also the fact I commonly heard it and used in England for 40 odd years. Apparently nobody considers it an English or British thing like Jolly good show, top hole, old boy, toodle-pip etc.

Only visited once many years ago. On the radio the other day they were talking about how Norwich has really transformed in the last couple of years. Always liked Norfolk as a county, though a bit out of the way.

I once went to Ipswich. Oh, twice, actually. The second time was for a Bristol Rovers cup replay.

Back in the 70s I had a penfriend who lived in Ipswich and I went to visit. On her last letter before I went, written on the envelope was "what do you want to do when you're here, sex?"

Naturally I went prepared. :o

I reckon my flatmate wrote it on the envelope before I saw it. Either that or she got someone to post it for her and they wrote it.

It's funny now of course. :hysterical:

Hope you had more luck than the Rovers they lost 3-0 and Ipswich went on to win the cup beating Arsenal 1-0. Long way to go to see your team lose and not get a leg over.

We wuz robbed.
Rovers leading 2-1 and what should have been 3-1 from the defender having a backpass intercepted - generally it's only offside when your own team is the one passing - and Ipswich made it 2-2 instead.
We considered Rovers to be the rightful winners of the FA Cup that season.

I got it wrong about the game I saw. It wasn't the replay, it was in the cup the following season when they walloped us 6-1. We arrived late for that one due to a coach problem and we only got there at half time. Not my most happiest memories in Ipswich. :(

House poor is often used to describe those who own housing and use a large % of income towards the costs.

What then would be a good term for renters who pay a large % of income in the form of rent?

Some renters may have the option of downsizing to a lower cost rental but lots of renters dont have that option.

J50 declared dead.

For those who may not know J50 was a young female killer whale from the endangered southern resident pod of which there are 75 left.

In the last 10 years 42 whales in this group have died with only 3 births.

Scientists on both sides of the border have spent the last month trying to save her.

Someone drove this little thunder-bucket to a wedding at the Hungarian club last week, and I was reminded of the first time I rode in one; thought I was flying.

That picture took me back.. many years ago when I was young and foolish, I drove my (then) boyfriends pride and joy Spitfire on the dirt roads in The New Forest (we were conservation corp members, saving adders, clearing scrub and helping to put out fires lol), ending with a rather splendid fast turn in a cleared area.. narrowly missing careening over the edge and coming to a stop with the rear wheels hanging precariously in mid air.

Such fun! Needless to say he wasn't too keen on me driving it back after.. but as it was only the 2nd time I'd actually driven a car, he did forgive me! :D
