We get ALL the dog walkers in the area walking past our condo, as it is a playing field and open space, but on-leash.
We also occasionally get 'presents' left for us on the grass outside the condo by those dogs because the owners haven't picked up after their pooch.
Oh, and I know exactly what that yellow snow is

We have taken to using ammonia along the front of the lawn, dogs take one sniff and never return. Put it into little slug catchers and the rain does not dilute it. By the way, It causes no harm to the dog, if only I could make the owner sniff some!

There are Irresponsible dog owners all over the world. If you lived in a culdesac of 4 houses you would still get it on your path, they enrage me.

Also, when the snow melts during a Chinook, all the previously 'entombed' doo doo and wee wee, comes to the surface again and you have to make sure you avoid that too.
Lovely.
I like your ammonia tactic

Don't get me wrong, I love dogs and wish I could own one in Calgary... but on the subject of fouling by said dogs, I find myself looking at the pavement just to avoid the doggy doo doo.

I have 2 dogs (2 boxers) and I am a stickler for picking up after them. Granted I don't bother picking up yellow snow, but I do pick up the poo.

Women with high pitched voices do my loaf in.
.....It's not their normal voice either, it's put on and they start to talk like babies!!!! WTF is that all about?!!!! It's the most irritating sound ever and makes me want to slap them up side the head with a shovel!
And don't tell me it's not a Canadian thing, i've lived 44 years on this planet, visited countless countries and never hear anything like it before. Anywhere!!!

You must live in a very different part of Calgary that I do... One thing that struck me when we moved here was the lack of dog poo on the streets. Where we lived in the UK it was EVERYWHERE! The other thing that struck me was the lack of litter.

I feel sorry for the dogs actually (in many cases), shut up over the winter and not getting proper walks.
Which leads me to......

Doggy Day Care/Creches for dogs for those manic Calgarians who never stop working.
I mean come on?!
If you can't look after the poor animal, don't own it!
Likewise, baby or any other living thing.

I think Canadians are workers, i didn't say hard workers...they turn up....they'd work the two minute silence...or at least turn up for it.....
As we say in Ireland....they give it two coats of looking at....

Superficially hard workers, where you end up talking to 'The Hand'... aka their Blackberry and can't have a normal conversation with them.
On the bus back home, virtually everyone is tuned in to their Blackberry, looking stressed out, BUT playing a game on it (as I have noticed).
What a load of b*****s.
