Lunchtime Choices

Re: Lunchtime Choices
It was ok but not great, took about 45 minutes to get our food once ordered, barely warm, relatively tender but it had been pounded out to 1/2" thick, (if you breaded it it would pass for a cutlet) so not what I'd even call a steak but the jus had fresh rosemary and that was nice. Not as good as the moose steaks my neighbour gave me and not worth $25, I won't go back unless it's free again and given input I'd choose someplace else. This was at the new Regina Centre Crossing location so maybe being new makes a difference.

I've always had good service, but it is a low end chain steakhouse that probably had its day 25 years ago. When we have big cheeses come to town we take them to Gotham's as they do a better steak.

Re: Lunchtime Choices
My older pup serves in the Victoria Keg- he is back in the kennel for Christmas- he would recommend the Mushroom Neptune for starter, New York steak , rare/ medium rare, garlic mash potatoes, side of sauté mushrooms. Washed down with J. Lohr Cab Sav and finish with creme brûlée ...
He prefers kibble

Re: Lunchtime Choices
With you on the steak houses. My former team went to Mandarin for a lunchtime buffet for their xmas do- so no 45-minute wait. My new team went to Jack Astors, so there was a wiat and the food not as good but had a nice pint of cider. Forgot to specify no ice though...

Good choice. I'll try the Mushroom Neptune next time. If its rubbish I tell the manager it was recommended by an employee in the Victoria branch. He shouldn't be too hard to narrow down.

Re: Lunchtime Choices
He is the only English speaking pup there, long fluffy ears, gormless expression, cold wet nose but significant capacity for alcohol- easy to spot!
