It was ok but not great, took about 45 minutes to get our food once ordered, barely warm, relatively tender but it had been pounded out to 1/2" thick, (if you breaded it it would pass for a cutlet) so not what I'd even call a steak but the jus had fresh rosemary and that was nice. Not as good as the moose steaks my neighbour gave me and not worth $25, I won't go back unless it's free again and given input I'd choose someplace else. This was at the new Regina Centre Crossing location so maybe being new makes a difference.

I go to the one on Granville Island mainly as HID is frequently given gift cards there and as she doesn't eat red meat they'd just go to waste unless I'm considerate enough to use them up.

I've always had good service, but it is a low end chain steakhouse that probably had its day 25 years ago. When we have big cheeses come to town we take them to Gotham's as they do a better steak.

Yes, it was on tap and they had (I think) 13 oz and 18 oz. The big one was $8 and as I wasn't paying that seemed fair. I've only been in about 6 big chain steakhouses and haven't really been impressed by any of them.

I'm struggling to recall it in anything other than bottles and cans.

I remember The Seahorse pub in Bristol having 'Exhibition' on draught.

(that was a bit of a dive - Siouxie will probably confirm)

My older pup serves in the Victoria Keg- he is back in the kennel for Christmas- he would recommend the Mushroom Neptune for starter, New York steak , rare/ medium rare, garlic mash potatoes, side of sauté mushrooms. Washed down with J. Lohr Cab Sav and finish with creme brûlée ...
He prefers kibble

With you on the steak houses. My former team went to Mandarin for a lunchtime buffet for their xmas do- so no 45-minute wait. My new team went to Jack Astors, so there was a wiat and the food not as good but had a nice pint of cider. Forgot to specify no ice though...

Good choice. I'll try the Mushroom Neptune next time. If its rubbish I tell the manager it was recommended by an employee in the Victoria branch. He shouldn't be too hard to narrow down.

He is the only English speaking pup there, long fluffy ears, gormless expression, cold wet nose but significant capacity for alcohol- easy to spot!

Christmas lunch at 1pm EST, will be my FIL, son together with me & the OH.

Food wise its what the wife made at the beginning of December, consisting of Sausage rolls & mince pies. Side dishes of home made veggie platter, assorted cut up fruit, humas & pita bread.

Pot of coffee & tea with home made marzipan topped Christmas cake.
