At great risk to my delicate senses I risked offence.
Just how many of these spoof news sites are out there? Must be hundreds, if not thousands.

Actually it WAS Adam and Steve, says God
Almighty God, creator of the heavens and Earth, has apologised to any fundamentalists who have been frothing at the mouth over what other people do to each other in bed by confirming that actually He did intend for the human race to be homosexual. Furthermore....

"Mystery Dildo Bandit". Only in Newfoundland could this describe what the bandit stole or where the crime was committed...'Mystery dildo bandit:' St. John's sex shop searches for alleged robber - Newfoundland & Labrador - CBC News

Last week there was a report in the Moncton paper about a former Moncton Mountie on duty in Quebec when dealing with some refugees crossing the border from the US.
The photo accompanying the report was notable in that the three refugees were kitted out in bulky looking winter coats, gloves, scarves around their faces and hats.
The Mountie had his normal police wear - no gloves, no hat, no scarf, not even his collar up.
The contrast between someone used to the cold and others less so amused me.
This week, the Mountie was in the news again. Killed in a traffic accident.

There's a bit of a furore going on here: local newspaper publishes story about a big drug (and contraband cigarettes) bust, illustrated with a photo which prominently features well-known local contractor's (easily indentifiable) vehicle.
Gossip grapevine goes wild.
Local newspaper removes photo from website but does not clarify that it was the wrong photo, nor does it clarify in the following paper edition that the photo published (also in paper edition) does not feature suspects' vehicle(s), & seems to be too busy deleting comments on website pointing this out to apologise or post an explanation.

[Police cars in photographs accompanying this story are not the actual police cruisers driven by Surete' members implicated in this series of crimes.] 6 Nations smuggling isn't new stuff, and neither are stories about Quebec corruption (Montreal police, specifically) but stashing the stuff in the town firehall is pretty rich. Quebec firefighters arrested in marijuana and contraband cigarette bust - The Globe and Mail

Probably just picking up his weekly parcel and was unlucky, sounds like the whole town smokes.

. Once upon a time, elsewhere in Qc & other places, I used to hang out with local firefighters & occasionally law enforcement types. It was an eye opener.

There's been a report in the paper about residents on one street being asked to pay a town mandated fee of $3000 per household for a water main replacement.
It seems very strange and one wonders what property taxes are for if not things like this.
