The ice hockey match against Germany is on this afternoon, the key to the contest is for the Canadian squad to control the mid-rink and not let the Germans score more goals.

One thing i could never figure out about Iced Hockey; how come the ball isn't punctured with the proximity of spiked boots and big sharp sticks?

Apparently, they freeze it first, that way it makes the outer coating much tougher. They will often go through more than one of the discs in a match.

Sounds like a huge effort for little return. I can't see why they don't just play rugby.

...there's none of my newly adopted Canadian family playing in this one, so I for one will be supporting our European brothers. Hope they get the rub of the green and slam dunk more hoops!

I'm staying neutral because my OH is Canadian but my grandfather was a Nazi.

If they lose it is definitely a one of match.

I'm not sure about the Aussie soap opera.
