Putting it in context the Russians had a bad first period.
Canada were awful against Switzerland and the US. The Germans were a non-contest and things apparently clicked against Russia. Although all the ex-pats who know lots about Hockey because they clearly played it growing up say they played well. The pressure is on Team Canada....good result or fluke- time will tell.

With your evident love of the sport it's hard to believe that your Canadian friends wanted to watch the game somewhere else.

And you have been in Canada how long? So what gives you the right to be so dismissive of people who evidently know a hell of a lot more about hockey than you do?

Canada vs US....... GO CANADA GO!!!! Women's hockey may not be an Olympic sport for much longer. http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/2...878/story.html Can't argue with the logic but the timing by Mr. Rogge sucks big time. Could he not have waited until after the gold medal game to say it. |

I think it's for the best. All that body checking can't make those young ladies more eligible catches.
Incidental contact is allowed but not checking as in mens hockey. The ladies are much too gentile for that. |

Ooops genteel is that right?
But back to the body-checking. I agree it's difficult with those lady iced hockey players, given the amount of padding and stuff. I prefer beach volleyball. Preferably France vs Brazil. But you know me. |
