It just kind of fell there while I was sitting on the steps drinking my gin and minding my own business

Yeah they stick it in bakery sometimes. Perhaps as it's a yeast extract. I mean, spread it on toast. What were we thinking?!
One thing that surprises me is, given the number of Brits in Canada, that there isn't more of a supply of British food. I mean it's not that Canada substitutes it with anything worth eating.
The British Stores are few and far between, really over-priced and the goods are sometimes beyond their sell-by dates. I'm amazed that there isn't a British food aisle in most supermarkets, especially as just about every other immigrant nation is represented.
Take British tea for example. I only just discovered you can buy normal loose leaf tea in Canadian Superstore. Given this is part of our staple diet, and there's masses of tea swilling brits over in Canada, it's incredible that other supermarkets haven't latched onto the potential. English breakfast teabags are generally highly expensive or taste like nats piss.

Ovaltine (of various flavours) Ribena, Robinsons Barley Water, Lime Cordial on the shelves of Co-Ops
30 different types of British cookies available - they never had Hobnobs when I lived there.
Various Mango Chutneys, Salad Creams, Malt Vinegars,
A full line of Pataks stuff - which is really Asian but is in the Brit aisle since we love "our" own foods so much.
etc., etc., etc.
And today I got New Zealand lamb - a real taste of home!!!

I seem to have a vague recollection of receiving good news yesterday afternoon, then receiving wine. Following this, it's possible I might have sent love karma messages to everyone logged into expats
Sorry for any surprise oddness, or inconveniences this might have caused
