They live in California and drove up from there to Vancouver. But we notice it too, once you get off I-5 and onto Highway 1, the quality of the road surface improves considerably.

92.5c/litre on Wednesday in Lachute Qc. I noticed it was 89c/l in Hawkesbury ON a few miles later. Locally (Qc north of Lachute) it's vascillating between 97 - 98 point something.

It's cheaper anywhere near the bridge to Hawkesbury.

Come to think of it, I believe that the gas stations north of the bridge are shuttered.

Didn't notice. It was stupid o'clock in the morning, & I was already not a happy bunny about detouring via H'bury because 'pont de glace' not operational.

Shell across the street from me - 81.9

Cheapest station in Calgary (excl. Costco) - Gas Plus - 73.9

Where does the price difference of 8c/ltr come from in the same city? I mean its only $10/tank for me, much less for lots of people, but still!

Went down overnight to 1.02/liter.

I am going to take a gamble and wait until Monday to fill, maybe it will get to under 1.00/liter.

Thanks. I was curious as I know nothing about gas other then if I put in Chevron's premium without Ethanol it lasts a bit longer then the other companies blends with Ethanol. As far as I can tell Petro Canada doesn't offer a non-ethanol blend, all the pumps says may contain up to 10% ethanol.

Not sure about Shell, they are too far down the highway to bother with, and Husky pumps seem to also imply all grades have ethanol in it.

Chevron has a sticker on the premium with a big Contains No Ethanol on it.

99c per gallon in Houston, Texas, (about 32c CDN per litre) that's the cheapest in 15 years apparently.

I can't recall ever paying 99 cents per gallon, but then I lived mostly in California... I want to say 1.25-1.50 was the lowest I have ever paid in the US.

Seems to be in the 2.49 to 2.93/gallon in San Diego area at the moment, probably will never get to 99c/gal....

According to the gas buddy website, the avg price in San Diego was lower last year with an avg of 2.55 vs the avg of 2.93 currently.

Comes with the disadvantage of having to live in Texas.
