Well...they think it's all over, it is now.
I can't say am going to lose sleep over it, I guess its the price you pay for joining someone else's league. Can you imagine the Premier League being dictated to out of Germany, France or Belgium?

Can someone explain what this is all about. I only ever seem to catch the news on the radio and if you lived in Red Deer then you would know that that is not really news

The NHL want to reduce the percentatge of revenues that goes to the players. This will make the NHL owners richer, but will reduce the salary cap and consequently the money available to pay the players.

The revenue earned by the collective NHL is split between the amount that goes to the players and the amount that goes to the owners. The part that goes to the players is divided by 30 and this becomes the salary cap for each team.

Sounds like a self-inflict pain to me. Why on earth would you go and do that anyway? The only people I feel for at the workers at the concessions, Zamboni workers, and other minimum wage paid backroom staff, the rest can sod off

Not at the moment, although the UEFA HQ was in Paris until 1996. It's now in Switzerland.

The players are refusing to accept the percentage of revenue the league is offering. The HNL says to the players that they have the option to accept what the NHL is offering or nothing. It they do not accept then the NHL will shut down the league indefinitely. It is the whole league – not just the Canadian teams.
