Well we're not quite post Brexit yet but it looks as though we've reached a fork in the road.
We all got on this bus for a mystery tour because the normal one had been stolen while we were all watching. Sitting at the back, I see that one side of the bus is marked 'Leave' and the other is marked 'Remain'.
Well, we're all in good spirits and the good spirits are sufficiently in us to render us just a little stupid and irresponsible.
Looking out of the front window we can see that the sign-post we just passed is marked 'Brexit' and it points downhill. The driver panicked and pulled the steering wheel off and when he tried pulling the handbrake it wasn't there. All the hydraulic fluid has leaked out of the brake master cylinder (something someone should investigate but it won't happen) and we're slowly rolling forward gathering speed quite quickly.
We all look around for seat belts but there aren't any and that really large concrete bollard at the bottom of the hill looks really really solid.
There's a runoff area about half way down that someone has had the forethought to provide but without a steering wheel we can't steer into it. Someone shouts for everyone to move to the 'Remain' side of the bus to change direction but we're moving so fast now that even if everyone had moved it wouldn't have changed direction and in the event although some of the 'Leave' passengers moved, to everyone's astonishment some of the 'Remain' passengers moved as well amid the confusion. Some scream 'Help' and hold their genitals as if that will save the situation, the others claw at the windows trying to jump from the bus.
Captain Underpants, the hairy one commonly mistaken for Coco the clown, who'd been seen stealing the old bus isn't anywhere to be seen, but look... straight ahead... and difficult to believe... the reincarnation of the Iron Lady has just appeared holding the Holy Grail and looking up we see the ravens from the Tower circling and look there's Nelson complete with a spectre of the 104 gun Victory firing a broadside at the bollard.
We squash Nelson as the bollard disappears under a hail of round shot and we find ourselves slowing as the ravens flap their wings to aid our close escape.
We come to a stop in the green fields of a strange land once called Albion. A land bordered and inhabited by hostile tribes.
The resurrected Iron Lady appears and speaks. 'I'm queen here, do as I say and it'll be all right in the end. Would I lie to you?'

The Iron Lady has found Captain Underpants hiding in a hole and given him a broom to help clean up the mess he created. No sign of the missing bus.

Saw on the beeb today that Wells Fargo is buying an office in the City.

But given the length of time these deals take, this could be a pre-brexit move they've just decided to ride with.

Talk on the street is that banking regulation will be one of the first to go. That will encourage billions of incoming foreign money into high risk, high return hedge funds, derivatives and junk debt. Combine that with low corporate taxes, eliminating capital gains, etc... we're talking big money.

..for banks, investment brokers and day traders...

Talk on which street? Not, presumably, one where anybody knows what they're talking about.

With Carney at the helm of a Bank of England with increased regulatory oversight responsibilities following the financial services act 2012, I suspect not much will change on the deposit-taking side of the game. And while the investment and risk management functions are under the control of the pseudo-independent FCA rather than the Bank's PRA, the remit of the FCA is tied to its own regulatory guidelines that would need primary legislation to change (not least because they're written under the auspices of the European Banking Authority).

Nothing connected to banking regulation will change until a review is completed of all legislative changes required after Article 50 is triggered. And I would be very surprised if banking regulation were very high up the list of priorities for that review - there are more fundamental concerns (concerning devolved parliaments and assemblies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland just for starters) that would take priority...

If true you could see that driving independence for London.

Very sensible.
The hysterical voices emanating from Bruxelles following the Brexit vote demanding an immediate submission of A50 were designed to generate the worst possible outcome for the UK and thereby seek to discourage 'les autres'.
One might almost suggest that these legal challenges have been encouraged by the government in order to stabilise the Brexit outcome and provide time to assemble teams to deal with the issue.
Although Bruxelles has declared that no extra-A50 negotiations will be permitted within the EU, this won't affect any exploratory negotiations with other nations, perhaps up to the point of actually producing unsigned agreements.
It's possible that if this comes to pass, then the inevitable leakage of information suggesting that the UK might be feathering its nest with other nations could reverse the EU stance and in extremis might even encourage others to follow suit.
Remember, not everyone does well out the EU and the longer that issues like Greece and the migrant crisis exist then the more disenchanted these nations will become. Having a semi-detatched UK muttering within the European Parliament will keep the Brexit issue uppermost in their thoughts.
The UK will be like that little beetle gnawing away at the heart of that tall pine. Outwardly sound but rotten to the core and waiting for that stiff breeze to knock it over.

The UK always has been that beetle. Once outside of the trunk, it will be the little beetle that disappears in the breeze.
