could it be getting back to the pre-referendum vote level, lets say 1.80 by the end of this week?

Keep Calm & Carry on

The exchange rate is pretty much back on the trend line that started in December 2015, that it briefly climbed off at the end of April.

'Experts' have been calling the Canadian Dollar oversold recently.

1.60-1.80 is probably where it is going to stay.

How "pre" are you going?

On the day itself I saw $1.88.

According to my spreadsheet that I maintain for tax purposes the rates on the day my pension was paid were $1.86 in May, $1.84 April, $1.89 March, $2.01 Feb and $2.05 Jan.

The Dead Cat in this instance (the UK) is unlikely to bounce within our lifetimes.

Me too! also I am trying to sell my UK house at present so that's unlikely now and even if it does sell I will have at least 15% less to buy another in the US.

The price of oil more likely to rise again and then Canada's petro currency will get further away.

My main pension income is in $Cdn, so I'm not bothered about that part of this fiasco.

There is a petition with nearly 3 million signatures on it asking for a debate in Parliament on the proposal that any referendum that commits would need a 75% turnout and 60% in favour - as is the case almost everywhere else.
There wasn't such an requirement in the Act (which simply authorised a referendum) and legally it has been accepted in UK that the result is advisory as no citizen can require an MP to take a specific action. It is muted that there could be a General Election before triggering the withdrawal.
It would be nice if there was and the politicians campaigned honestly rather than lied through their teeth as the Leave guys did.
They even said 'don't believe the experts believe me because I shout louder (and know begger all myself).

I moot that that horse has bolted and is now somewhere around Kazakhstan. The other members of the EU have likely heard the referendum result so there's no going back on it now.

Is that the one where most of the 'signatures' came from IP addresses outside the UK, including many in North Korea and Antarctica?

This really isn't cricket, old boy.
