Only just noticed this thread so good way of me to keep a track and see other peoples weight losses. Joined weight watchers in Nov as had promised to do this as medicals were due, but had the medical quite quickly and she did not mention anything about my weight....anyway now Dec and have lost slowly each week so my total loss is 10 half pounds....bit slow but keeping at it.(need to get off about 3stone) My OH is in canada at the moment so it seems easier as he is not dragging me to the pub at night, or selecting puddings in Tesco. Had a lunch out with my X colleagues today and purposley went in the car so did not drink wine. One of my colleagues polished off over a litre of wine and ended up being sick in a pub later on.....so think tonight will treat myself to bottle of vino for being so good......and might venture to the pub.:beer::beer:
Will try hard over christmas cause want to get into nice swimsuit for when we move over 2008, believe summers on VI is very nice.

Welcome Emmabell! And great weight loss - slow and steady:thumbsup:

Well I had my monthly figures done and not quite as good as the 1st 2 months but now my totals are

-15.5 inches
-5.5 lbs
and a whole - 2 BMI points

I am hoping they are doing the weight loss programme after crimbo so I can get my eating habits under control too!

Keep up the good work all - Oh one of my new colleagues has been losing weight for what sounds like a long time and at one stage weighed over 300lbs - you wouldn't think it if you saw her today, so huge karma to her. She says everytime she looks in the mirror now she can't help smiling:thumbsup:

welcome emmabell - and congrats to everyone so far on their loss of poundage and inches !! I think we all deserve a wee pat on the back (followed by a slice of cream cake!! No? Oh, right, perhaps not  ).

So - it could be a tough few weeks for everyone - with food and drink aplenty - but I shall try to be 'sensible' - not go too mad - and if a couple of extra pounds sneak back on, well hey ho, it's not the end of the world, and I know they will come off again (eventually :p ).

Have a very happy, and possibly slimming Christmas everyone

hi emmabell, glad you noticed the thread, its a great help to be able to talk to others in the same position.
Ann, sorry to say i dont think my christmas is going to be very slimming:unsure: havent been to diet club for a few weeks as its closed for the holidays, already i have noticed how much more ive eaten. just goes to show how much i need the classes in order to stay on track.
However like you said if you put on a couple of pounds its not that bad, just have to be really really good for a few weeks after xmas.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL.

Thanks for the replies. I will keep you posted possibly weekly as get weighed each thursday......but we get a week off next week.
Did venture to the pub on Friday and bottle of wine went down to easy. Thats why tend to stay out of there or have gin and slim line. Well as quoted it is christmas and its only once a year.
Have a good one everyone.

RIGHT GIRLS YOU HAVE SOME NEW COMPANY!!!!!!

Since coming here I have put on about 6lbs, (that's one lb a month!) which I attribute to Tim Fricking Horton to be honest..... Can any of you recommend a good diet like weight watchers or something or give me advice on what to do next, I even bought a treadmill this week so I mean business!

All help warmly welcomed! (what night is weigh in by the way?)

Fanks

Welcome Mrs Miggins!

Weigh in day is when you decide - I post once a month my losses as that's when I get measured others post the day they go for their weigh in's at their various clubs.

There are loads of helpful do's and don't at the beginning of the thread that should help. So far all I'm doing is curves 3x's per week and it's working a gem, although I do want to cahnge my eating habits pretty soon too!

Good luck with your treadmill:thumbsup:

Hi Mrs M - and welcome.

I only post when there has been any weight loss - which is why I only post irregularly !! ;) It's been a slow old process for me - but not enough exercise as yet. But 6lbs is better than nothing (and I'm stuck for last 3 weeks) - just another 20 odd to go

Some people put me to shame (flip flop, piff poff, manghams) - but I'm delighted that we're all still on this thread, chipping in with progress and congrats and empathy.

We should start the new year with a progress tally - I think we've all done very well - even if it's only a couple of pounds for some people, that's a bag of sugar. Others have lost several shopping bags !

Me? - 6lb down - at least 18lb to go .....

Re: EXFATS WEIGH IN!

Hi mrs miggins, best advice i can give is to eat healthy and do some exercise. Treadmills are great but a bit boring. Maybe you could find a friend who wants to lose weight also, someone who you could walk with, or run with or whatever takes your fancy. I would definately recomend joining some sort of slimming club, i do the ROSEMARY CONLEY diet and fitness club, ive tried them all and found that this is the one that suits me best.
Slimming clubs are a great way of keeping you on track, at least when you know that someone is going to weigh you every week you know you,ve got to be good.;). Exercise, well its best to pick something that you enjoy, i enjoy walking and seeing lots of wildlife so i walk around 6-8 miles a day and in the process get to see deer, foxes, hares, squirrels and lots more. Its hard work at times, sometimes you just dont want to exercise or you fancy a slice of pizza, but ITS SO WORTH IT. I have lost 3 and a half stone now since april and although ive still got 1 and a half stone to go i cant help but smile every time i look in the mirror. Finally good luck to you.

Re: EXFATS WEIGH IN!

The best way I found to loose weight, was doing it with a friend, the weight, gym, even going out.
So I lost a total of 35 lbs just another 14 lbs to go.
BUT
Now I am here in Ontario, without a buddy, and I am wondering;
Where is the Weight Watchers meeting
Where is there a gym
Where can I find a new buddy?

So I guess progressess over the next month or so may be at a impass.
Got to rid of that last stone before the summer, we've got a pool going in!
Dont want to be a beached whale when our visitors arrive. :frown:
And we cant have a dog until the garden oops I mean yard stops looking like a mud bath!

Any advise greated appreciated! :)

Hi Manghams,

Check out Weightwatchers.ca to find out where your nearest meeting is!

You've got all you buddies on here to support you, but you may find a buddy at a meeting.

I can give:thumbsup: for Curves if you want a gym to go to.

Good luck!

Re: EXFATS WEIGH IN!

Weight watchers has worked for me and I this time have gone on my own, it is a thursday day time so it seems like a little family gathering. Mostly over 60's but still they are a laugh.
Gym wise, I kept putting it off but after the first initial visit I dont mind it going on my own. Everyone seems to do their own thing, and me being talkative always have someone to chat to in the changing rooms, infact it seems some people are glad to chat because sometimes it can be a bit daughnting when you are on your own . I thought at first it would be all skinny people but am amazed at all the shapes and sizes that go to the gym. I lost over 3stone year before last by doing this then I stopped going and have put back 2stone over this last year. Now back on track and just been this afternoon to the gym to get that xmas pud off. When we get over to VI I will be looking for a gym and the nearest weight watchers but you can do WW on line if you want.
Keep at it, stone by summer should be easy.
