OH and I have registered to vote in the referendum. As voting papers are only sent out 11 days before voting takes place it is impossible to guarantee receipt and return in that short space of time, so you will have to do it by proxy to have your vote count. We have asked our daughter who is still in the UK to be our proxy.

I find this ridiculous, something as important as this and they cant be bothered to send the voting papers out on time. Typical government system of "organisation"

Its the same as the HMRC....they requested proof of my Canadian citizenship for tax purposes to back my UK tax return, they wouldnt accept it scanned, they wanted the original, obviously that took longer, i missed the tax return dead line and they subsequently fined me. A perfect example of government stupidity and utter ignorance.

I got a proxy vote in the end (because of concerns over the post).

I am so glad Im not voting and to be honest never having been back to the UK for 28 years I wouldn't know which way to vote.
I think we can agree that there has been scaremongering from both sides with some outrageous claims being made. With a month to go I expect both sides to ramp up their campaigns with more outrageous claims and on June 23rd they will vote.
The media don't help by publishing stories and both the Daily Mail and Express readers want a BREXIT judging by their comments which mostly has to do with their views on uncontrolled immigration and the EU making rules which don't help the UK.
Most Guardian and Telegraph readers want a REMAIN as its good for business and being part of a greater community.
The Sun, Daily Mirror and Daily Star readers only care about their paper showing scantily clad women and Kardashian stories by the dozen.

There are several threads on the OUT IN vote and even when I pose a serious question and ask for an answer I still feel perplexed as I only get opinions from so called experts who don't really know the true answer.

Canada isn't a member of a North America union or such and it does reasonably well on its own so why couldn't the UK if they decided to leave?
