Re: Dear Canada Post, We Need To Talk.
One of the Liberals' election promises was to restore home delivery by Canada Post and to do away with community mailboxes. Right now, only 27% of Canadian households get home delivery. Restoring it would be a wonderful (and very expensive) opportunity for more mail to be delivered to wrong addresses. There's also a suggestion that Canada Post could offset its mail delivery costs by offering banking services. Would you trust your money to an outfit that can't even stick a letter in the correct mailbox?

From the horse's mouth
We will save home mail delivery.
By ending door-to-door mail delivery, Stephen Harper is asking Canadians to pay more for less service. That is unacceptable.

Canada Post + Shopper's = disaster....
Parcel shipped so called expedited service left ON on Dec 1 arrived in Chilliwack on the 8th, delivery notice on the 13th, and now on the 15th still not available for pick up.

I've a parcel from the US that has been sat in Mississauga since Saturday - no updates at all.

My son had the same issue - expedited service with a notification of 'delivery 14th December' - so he had to take the day off (it was a signed for item) losing around $200 in tips. At 9pm it still showed 'out for delivery'. No, it still hasn't shown up.

That doesn't sound accurate. I remember them saying they'd stop the Conservative plans to end home delivery to those still getting it.

I'm tracking a parcel sent Monday from abroad, which arrived in Montreal 3 days ago.
As of this morning, it's showing as shipped out to Manitoba...

I was DELIGHTED with the processing time... until I saw Manitoba on the tracking info. The damn thing even has the right (Qc) postcode on it, but is apparently, according to Canada Post, making a ~3000 mile detour to get 65 miles up the road from Montreal !!!
Sigh...

Something like the Montreal processing plant is extremely busy at this time of year and we sent mail to the processing plant in Winnipeg which is not as busy for distribution to ensure you got the item on time.
