I get that often too. There's actually not been any attempt to deliver, it's just more convenient for the courier/postal service to get you to collect it from a central point.

Unless you live off the beaten path or in a building that is hard to access the driver either has to go to the door or mailbox to leave the slip unless he loads the parcels in the trucks and then drives to the nearest Timmies and starts filling out attempted delivery slips. Unless Im missing something the driver has to write out the slip and leave it at the door or outside box so why not knock at the door with package in hand

The laptop battery that was mailed from Surrey on Saturday morning arrived in my superbox in Oliver this afternoon. One reason I like that company is because they use Expedited Parcel, and 4 days is normal in BC and 5 to Saskatchewan.

Good one FL - I was expecting them. The Canada Post app lets you know when it is out for delivery, and I know what time the carrier usually comes.
I normally order stuff DPO (direct to post office) to avoid this issue. (I work at the SDM that happens to be our post office as well, so i'm there pretty often.) But this specific amazon seller didn't offer this option. I figured it was because they were shipping via UPS or something, but I dunno.
I suppose I should have used my FlexDelivery address, but that went over my head at the time of ordering

Mine was held up (my mom sent it) for a week at Shoppers after arriving due to Shoppers not having sufficient staff to handle the high volume and they had no idea where the parcel was, eventually they did find it.

A large, heavy box was recently left lying on my doorstep one morning. Nobody rang the bell. It was clearly addressed to someone several blocks away. Too heavy for me to redeliver so I called Canada Post to come an pick it up. They did this next day but guess what arrived on my doorstep the day after? I called the real owner of the package and he came and picked it up. Canada Post had insisted to him that it had been delivered - thy just didn't say where.Their TV ad stating that they deliver more parcels to Canadians should actually say that they deliver the same parcel to more Canadians who eventually redeliver or pick up the things themselves. At least once week we get someone else's mail. Fortunately, we and our neighbors are honest people so we get do get our the checks and bills unless the person who initially received them is away on holiday. Better late than never, eh, but what a great opportunity for identity theft.
Service at our local post office (located in a drug store) is bizarre. There used to be two clerks serving. Now there is only one and, in spite of the hours when the outlet is supposed to be open, she goes off whenever she feels like it so you never know when the place is actually going to be open. She sits in the back office watching a growing line-up of frustrated customers. Canada Post seems quite impervious to complaints about her or, for that matter, about anybody or anything else.

I routinely get mail for others. I get more mail for other people then mail of my own, but really nothing comes by mail anymore, just parcels so I don't think anything has gone missing.

I have no idea what my manager is thinking only scheduling 1 postal worker at this time of year. Its so busy and they don't get to take their breaks, and the customers get angry. Its not the postal workers fault, its Shoppers for only budgeting for 1 postal worker at the most busy time of the year.
Our senior postal worker ended up coming back in without pay to help the person working the night shift at the post office, after she had worked all day without breaks.
