Crime in your area
#92
I was once asked if i could spare some change by a homeless fella while he was taking a shit in Kitsilano, Vancouver. I was tempted purely for his multi-tasking skills.
I'm pretty sure taking a shit off the back of a bench down the street is illegal. Never saw that in my little Yorkshire village therefore crime is worse in the whole of Canada

With such multi-tasking, entrepreneurial and contingency planning skills, I'll wager your shitey vagrant won't be on the streets for much longer, and will soon be serving up donuts in your local Timmies. Hurrah and thrice hurrah for this blessed land of opportunity.

Either you've not lived in the UK or ever frequented the UK because this is quite the norm for suburbia. A small lane with only three houses! Admittedly surrounded by 1000's of Wimpy homes but certainly not a cheap area.

I've lived in a few places in the UK and still own property there. Not once have i encountered what you describe.
How many houses have you lived in in the UK? How many of these houses were in different areas? How many of these houses suffered the situation you describe on an ongoing basis?

I have only seen one punch up since I arrived in Canada and that was between two women, although I use the term "women" in the loosest possible sense of the word, seriously they were both rank.

To Summarize then
Crime exists in Canada, like anywhere else in the world. But it does not appear to effect Expats as much as it does, or did, in the UK.
Most of the reported, gun crime, is gang related and nothing to worry about as it does not directly effect the regular peeps on here
Canada is not safer, than the UK, its just we live in safer areas now.
Glad to hear that the majority here are not directly effected by huge amounts of crime.
Clear as Mud, case closed....LOL

Next task: when should you say affect instead of effect?
