If I read it right it says the death rate was higher in 2008 and I don't remember much fuss being made of it at the time!
AFAIK the swine flu wasn't a huge killer in the UK, but the 2008/2009 financial crisis may have contributed to more suicides. Who knows. |

Hard to say what it will be in Canada, but COVID will likely be the 3rd leading cause of death in the US for 2020, only heart disease and cancer being worse.
