You would have to do the same for each year to compare if there was a huge increase or not :)

If I read it right it says the death rate was higher in 2008 and I don't remember much fuss being made of it at the time!

I don't understand the data either.
AFAIK the swine flu wasn't a huge killer in the UK, but the 2008/2009 financial crisis may have contributed to more suicides. Who knows.

Hard to say what it will be in Canada, but COVID will likely be the 3rd leading cause of death in the US for 2020, only heart disease and cancer being worse.

Costco would count. I think it's stores that would sell multiple things, for example food, appliances, clothes and other things. So Walmart would possibly fall into that category too.

Yep, you do not want to catch COVID if you have type 2 diabetes that's for damn sure.

Yes type 2 seems to not be a good mix. My wife has type 2 (medication induced) and we worry about it because of that she would have a higher risk than someone her age without it.

All non-essential retail stores, including hardware stores, alcohol retailers, and those offering curbside pickup or delivery, must open no earlier than 7 a.m. and close no later than 8 p.m. The restricted hours of operation do not apply to stores that primarily sell food, pharmacies, gas stations, convenience stores, and restaurants for takeout or delivery.

So are non essential stores still open? And if they are 7 am to 8 pm is quite a long timeframe.

Nothing has really changed here in Toronto. :confused:

Doug Ford seemed to have ruled out curfews. From what he said today I think it would be the absolute last resort.
