He used to write a very funny column for Saturday's Guardian too. I have a novel he wrote somewhere. Talented bloke.

I grew up watching Mission Impossible, but thought his performance as Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood was great.

I don't think there's been a proper confirmation that he's been killed... this is what Wikipedia says: On 11 July 2017, Iraqi news agency Al Sumaria stated on its website that ISIL had circulated a brief statement in Tal Afar that Baghdadi was dead.[143] The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed it had "confirmed information" of his death.[144] The U.S. Department of Defense stated it was trying to confirm the new reports of his death.[145] The Kurdish counter-terrorism official Lahur Talabany told Reuters he was "99 percent" sure Baghdadi was alive and hiding in Raqqa.[146]

And i can't find any actual confirmations one way or the other.......

What do you guys think, run with it or wait for a confirmation?

What would help would be a firm rule. Something like, he counts "if there's an obituary in the The Times" or even "if the BBC says he's dead".
