So he is head of ISIL and ISIL say he is dead. I dont think ISIL will announce the funeral and location for fear of 500 cruise missiles joining the party. You can take them off me if he springs back to life for a long weekend in Palestine. 😜

It says any major national news outlet... Times, BBC, CBC, etc are all fine. Never been an issue until this dude!

RT, is a major national news outlet. If RT says someone is dead and the rest say not, is the person dead? (Admittedly it's usually the other way around but the circumstance is foreseeable). This standard means that the administrator of the pool has a lot of discretion, for example, is the CBC a credible source, how about Global News or the Oakville Beaver?

Games, especially betting games, are more fun if the rules are as fixed as possible.

I raised this issue a few years ago and it was changed from BBC to any major news service. It was re-clarified either earlier this year or last year.

Re: Celebrity Croakers 2017

Holy crap. If you guys want it to be just BBC, I don't care. It was changed because people regularly post whatever link they come across. So it seemed like it was dumb to require them to go dig up the BBC link when every major news outlet carried the story. There's like 20 people playing here, it's not some giant thing with hundreds of players that has to be closely managed because people are making all kinds of obscure picks. I like to think there's some room for intelligence and judgement around here but apparently not.

My hesitation with baghdadi was no one seems to have CONFIRMED he's dead. (I'm disinclined to believe ISIL separately from any other news source.) If you want him marked dead, fine, go make the change, the spreadsheet is open. Else I'll do it on Tuesday. Sheesh.

Oh wow. :(

He did feature on some of the predictions, so that's 11 points to Hurlabrick, Souvy, The4BellsLondon, and withabix, with 22 going to tootlepootle for having him as the joker.

Points have been updated, and new picks required for you five, plus a new joker for TP.
