Empanadas with salsa, and a beer. I went in early so already have half a day's work done and deserve it, especially on this, the holiest of working days.

I couldn't stomach that first thing in a morning caretaker

Having that for breakfast, unless that was lunch in another time zone?

Walmart sells some nice pizza bun thingies. Not really pizza but a round soft bread base with a bit of pizza sauce and a thin layer of cheese on. 6 for $5 my mother in law says.

30 seconds on defrost in the microwave and topped with a fried egg makes a delicious breakfast.

Not many more calories than an egg on a couple of slices of toast.

Those bags of coleslaw salad mix are good sautéed and served with a poached egg or two on top. Not a hole bag though that would be way too much.

That sounds interesting. Not something that would have occurred to me.

Forgot to mention on the earlier comment, if you do have a little more than you usually do - say a full English (or even kippers ) - then you make up for it with a salad for lunch.

Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs yesterday.
Slice of toast and Marmalade today plus a banana/berry/yogurt smoothie.

Big handful of kale, spinach and Swiss chard, half an apple, a carrot, two strawberries, some goji berries and a glug of flax seed oil. Zipped up as a smoothie.

I made steak and eggs with bacon and fried mushrooms, and when I looked for the HP, (way in the back because of height) it was right behind a bottle of beer I didn't know I had. I took it as a sign.

I know it's by no means unusual but steak and eggs never seems quite right to me. Egg and a beefburger, yes, but rare or even pink steak and eggs I can't imagine it.

Still, after that breakfast you may as well go back to bed

Work takes precedence, and I just got up at 5. I just fried the smaller section of a larger steak, so about 6oz, and didn't think I'd have the appetite for chips so only had toast instead, so not too heavy at all. Often if I have a big breakfast I'll just work through lunch, or eat a light breakfast if I know I'm going out for lunch. Try to have something each day from each of the main food groups; the burger group, the fries group, and the beer group.
