Oh for the days of a full English then toast and marmalade or else bagels, cream cheese and smoked salmon, sigh.

:( I'm not saying there's anything wrong with a poached or boiled egg, but it's poo that you can't have whatever you feel like. I hope you're doing ok Siouxie x

One day I'll be able to indulge my foodie side again, lol. I'm doing ok thanks.. just have to watch everything I eat to the Nth degree - I've become a label reading expert, lol.. and sodium avoider! x :)

Can't eat feta cheese (sodium is too high) nor olives (same reason) as they push my blood pressure through the roof - and no red meat allowed at all - so nope, that's out for me... let alone butter, lol.

Eggs Benedict was a favourite of mine pre-stroke (Ham, Bacon or Smoked Salmon if I was splashing the cash), or if I was making breakfast at home then a full English - with a few slices of good bacon maybe an English breakfast sausage or 2, mushrooms, tomatoes and eggs - and a fried slice of course, perhaps a few beans or a potato rosti - oh and toast on the side.. (with butter and marmalade ready) - but it'll be a fair while before I can have that again!

:)

The increasingly popular battered sausage. Because I didn't mix the whole package of meat I did not include an egg, so it was lean ground beef, some chopped green onion, Montreal steak spice, touch of sea salt, breadcrumb, and this time I added a little squirt of HP sauce. It only takes a little beer to make enough batter for this but due to drinking the rest while cooking it becomes a 2 beer breakfast in total.

Is she aware that over hydration is as dangerous as dehydration?

I was thinking about kippers, but opted for bacon and eggs instead. By sheer willpower I kept from having a beer with this, though the sea salt on the chips was just right - not too much... maybe I earned one...

There was a partial can of flat beer left from last night, and I have bags of cheese cubes left over from Christmas in the freezing compartment, so the decision was made to have rarebit. Cheese melted in half-and-half and the beer, a half tsp of Dijon, grated pepper and milk and flour to thicken, served on toasted pumpernickel. I made enough rarebit for 2 so now I have to think of what to do with a cup of cheese sauce.

After reading the first bit of your post I didn't think this breakfast was going to turn out very well, but it did - yum! Re the leftover cheese sauce - pour over cauliflower or broccoli and bake in the oven, or make some macaroni cheese.

It is good, and other than a lot of stirring it's easy to make. The few times I made Welsh rarebit in my teens I didn't know about the mustard and pepper to jazz it up a bit and only last year scanned some recipes and started doing it that way. The only downside is it's not something I'd want every day because it's so rich, even though I think nothing of loading up on cholesterol and salt.

Well, except for some of the ingredients, proportions, method of preparation, and end result... ;) That looks like it might be a good dip for those big pretzels as shown, but I've never had those. End of the day it's just another variant of cheese fondue.

Caretaker, you do like spicy foods. Fortunately, my husband is like me and don't eat anything that is spicy hot or curry.

I have too many favorite breakfast things. Some days it is French Toast (which isn't French) or poached eggs on English Muffins (which aren't English) or American pancakes (not crepes). Love corned beef hash with two eggs up and toast or a lovely western omelet with ham, peppers and onions or a runny bacon and egg on a hard roll.

I dislike avocado and thought that was pastrami LOL. Would have preferred to see poached eggs on toast with the eggs being runny not well done. We rarely eat fried foods. I notice that you like much of your foods fried.

Fried, roasted, baked, boiled, broiled, smoked, sauteed.... I like to cook and I like to eat. Some day I might get really old and lose my teeth and have to eat baby food, or become senile and forget how to cook, or have a stroke and lose my sense of taste, so in the meantime there's no good reason not to eat and drink well.

I was thinking about soft boiled eggs just now (I usually have 3), but could still go with pancakes. Nah, eggs it is.

I think eggs are probably my single favourite food of all, I reckon I could live on eggs.

Breakfast today - like most days - is yoghurt, muesli and berries. Lunch today - like most days - is two cold soft-boiled eggs.

My once a month Sunday treat :D

1 or 2 slices of Lou's back bacon (it's just the 'eye' of meat, 85% less fat than standard back bacon), 4 mushrooms (grilled, no grease), 1 poached egg and a slice of wholegrain prebiotic toast, half with the egg and half after with a smear of marmalade (no butter or marg)...
Living (not) large!

Good for you! A few years ago Giant Tiger had the big chunks of Lou's back bacon frozen for really cheap and I hit that pretty hard while it was available.

Ohh. I think I can get an indictment to the International Court of Human rights against HID due to her the totalitarian diet regime.
No dead animals, nothing brown or anything in a box (giggity) or a packet. And despite the copious amounts of beer I consume I've lost over 2 and half stone and I wasn't overweight to begin with. :( I wonder if Bob Geldof is around?
