Bloody hell!

2.5 stone is a lot of weight to lose if you were lean already... it can be just as damaging to your health as being overweight.. I think you should tell her indoors you are ffeeling too weak to clear the driveway for her to take her car out and suggest she does it!

I thought my food regime was strict, but yours is extreme! Put one of those little fridge freezers in the shed / barn and one of these! https://www.amazon.ca/Nostalgia-BSET300RETRORED-Breakfast-Station-Red/dp/B00LS7VOCC... go out and make yourself a fry up :D She shouldn't be forcing HER lifestyle choices on you if you don't agree buy into them... stand up and be counted - be a rebel :D :p

Probably not an issue where he lives, but maybe there's a way to hide a fridge out on the balcony....
If she's planning another trip away she may just be starving him proactively knowing what he'll do while she's gone.

My mate had a Molson beer fridge on his balcony for his beer, He worked at the local Molson brewery and they gave him free beer. I'd often visit.
They are good ideas nonetheless, but I don't think Oink would sneak food. He has every opportunity and is still starving, so there may be some sort of moral at play. I don't know the dynamic of their relationship other than the side Oink presents, but there is a thriving sprouts and tea culture in Vancouver that makes it plausible.
If she's from Saskatchewan tell her you want to take her to the Hilltop Cafe in Langley for some flapper pie.
After reading the reviews it seems that the Hilltop may have gotten all Hollywood since I was there last.... but back then it was great.

Re: Breakfast Choices

Last night the meat I was going to cook for supper wasn't quite thawed yet, (so just made sausages and perogies), so this morning for breakfast I had moose heart fried in bacon grease with onion gravy and chips. Oh man was it good! There was enough flour in the scrapings from the dredged heart slices I didn't have to add any, just some butter, a touch of beef stock, and emptied the merlot sitting on top of the fridge then a few oz of water and it thickened up just as the onions were done. The salt and pepper in the dredging and steak spice I sprinkled on the meat in the pan meant no additional seasoning was needed. Paired with a cold Bohemian.

The rest will make a nice little stew.

I had toast (sourbread) with blackcurrant jam this morning.
I usually have a couple of crispbread slices with a bit of brie. Goes great with coffee.

A microwave 'moc scrambled egg' (takes 25 seconds - no fat or salt - 35 calories) on a half slice of dry wholegrain toast followed by a bowl of Quaker Oats so thick you can cut it with a knife, with a little maple syrup on top - all washed down with one of my 4 decaf coffees of the day and a large glass of water.

:D

1 litre of dark roast coffee with cream and sugar, toast, and a big bowl of corned beef hash with 2 fried eggs on it, Frank's Red Hot sauce. Don't ask about fat and salt.

Crispbread slices with brie with a bucket of coffee sounds like my dream brekkie

Sausage and eggs and potatoes. The leftover batter from last night was still in the fridge and the oil was still in the wok, so I made some sausage patties with chives, and diced the leftover chips with a green onion for hashbrowns. This means lunch will likely include the half-dozen shrimp left from supper and 1.5 battered sausage patties - not just my usual ramen and kimchi at work.

Why, thank you! :o I am a discerning customer of garage sales and thrift shops. Since I like to keep the oil in my deep fryer just for chips so it lasts longer, I find the wok is great for deep frying things like shrimp as well as doing stir fries.

Do you leave the wok and the oil on the stove all the time or do you refrigerate it when you are finished using it? Doesn't using the oil for so many different types of food change the taste of the foods you are frying.

Not that I can use the answers, we don't eat anything deep fried. Just am curious.

No. The little bit of oil used to fry something in the wok goes into the "used oil" jug and the wok lives in the drawer in bottom of the stove. The reason for using it is explained above.

I have porridge made with water, and so thick you could cut it with a knife, 4 times a week - it's excellent for helping to reduce LDL :D I have maple syrup on it instead of sugar / cream / milk or whatever... keeps me going for hours!

Re: Breakfast Choices

Marmite Croissants.

We had a ziploc back of mini-croissants in the freezer. Either from one of those large bag of rolls and things which we'd separated or from a clamshell container. I thought they were the sweet ones that when warmed through are so nice with jam or marmalade.

I had pineapple marmalade ready yesterday when I put them on plates for me and my stepdaughter who I'd got up extra early for work.

"Aren't these cheese" she said on smelling them? Of course they were. It was disappointing though as I'd been looking forward to my 'continental' breakfast. :o

So today, I had a couple warmed through and then a little butter and marmite. Lovely.
