Agreed. As lf1 mentioned, the bread from Cobs is very good. I always get their higher fibre loaf. One time the girl behind the counter commented she didn't like the higher fibre because it wasn't sweet enough, heh. It's also a franchise so it's likely that there will be one near you.
Only downside is it's $4 a loaf. I do miss the 70p loafs of bread from Lidl, but what can you do.

If you want cheap ones then I'd suggest President's Choice. They're a bit fatty so I'd suggest limiting your consumption. The 'gourmet' ones are quite expensive and tbh some of the combination of ingredients/flavors suggest some psychological issues, but are much better quality.
Now with sausage rolls, it’s really by trial. There seems to be little correlation between price and quality.
