Ah the US and their guns.
True, however it seems that the esteemed Senators were more concerned with their forthcoming elections within their respective Districts than carrying out the apparent wishes of the vast majority of the US public (if the recent polls are anything to go by), that the Senate as a whole deem to represent. No surprises there at all!

Almost all the headline-making incidents (including Newtown) have been carried out by people on prescribed, mind-altering drugs (which is what anti-depressants are) who have guns. It's not a clever combination.

Of course such a restriction would call into question the wisdom of prescribing this drugs and jeopardise an industry which is extremely profitable and buys and pays for an awful lot of US politicians, so it will never happen.

Eggs. All of the people involved in headling making incidents had eaten an egg. Most of them benefitting the political-industrial-complex that masquerades as the poultry business.

Also shoes, they all wore shoes. Coincidence? I think not.

It seems it's not the US people, but their self-interested politicians.

Sort of like ours here in Canada. Can you imagine if the rest of Canada was eligible to vote in any future Quebec referendum then the result might be quite shocking. I know Id vote just to get rid of them

On custody? Shot dead you mean. The 'black hat' bombing suspect was killed, an MIT Police officer is dead, another officer is in critical condition, and the 'white hat' suspect is hiding somewhere in Watertown, (they think). The suspects robbed a 7-11 in Cambridge, shot an MIT officer in his cruiser, carjacked a Mercedes suv, threw explosive devices at pursuing police when the Merced was spotted in Waterton. State police say they'll give another briefing in an hour. By the time it starts getting light.... update - police say they're finding bombs outside now (2, at least 1 a pressure cooker. A 20 block perimiter area is cordoned off while police search house by house. Edit: they've got the front of some big commercial building floodlit now north of the Arsenal Mall but the reporter on the scene says he could be anywhere. 2nd edit: the commercial bldg not focus, the bomb squad seems interested in a vehicle there - the cameras are really blocks away so hard to tell what they're doing. The town is full of cops and swat teams and bomb squads for the last 4 - 5 hrs and the sun will come up soon.

Pete Williams of NBC has told the channel 7 reporters the 2 suspects came to the US about a year ago and hints at foreign military training but the police won't say or confirm anything yet. Witnesses say the police chase in Watertown involved what sounded like hundreds of gunshots and the suspects throwing hand grenades and 1 pressure cooker bomb. (Just watched the video but all you can see is flashing lights and you can hear the poppity pop pop of gunfire). I wouldn't put any money on the remaining suspect being captured alive, but I can't understand why they'd knock over a concenience store. Once their blurry pictures from the marathon bombing were on tv, why go out? To steal money to escape? They would have planned that before, no? Classes at MIT are cancelled today. At Beth Israel Med Centre where the dying 'black hat' suspect was taken all the spokesmen will say is he was an adult male, and won't describe injuries other than he was getting cpr for 10 - 15 min (oops, now saying he caught a bomb blast, shrapnel etc as well as gunshot wounds), before being pronounced dead and that there was a large police presence.

At least we know who they are now, Chechens who came legaly a year ago via Turkey. 19 year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is the one they're looking for, his brother is the one killed in the gunfight. SWAT continues to clear houses and let people out. No school, no busses, no trains, no subways, no businesses open - they really want to flush him out.
