Any thoughts any one - can I say that I was in a bad mood when I wrote this earlier - lack of sleep due to clocks going forward!!!!!

As far is i'm aware (and i'm NO expert here) if you apply for the Regional Qld Sponsored Visa you'll need to live and work in Regional Qld for atleast the first 2 years. Hence this is a provisional visa as this requirement must be fulfilled.

After 2 years you have the option of either going home, applying for a 12 month extention or applying for an 887 Visa which requires proof of having been living and working in that regional zone. The 887 is a perm visa and is a 'pathway to permanent residance' so long as you've satisfied the regional living criteria.

The 887 is not points tested so you won't have to worry about losing points, it's more about the living and working within the region, having meds and police checks etc that counts.

Hi All

We applied for QLD State Sponsorship about 2 weeks ago, does anyone know if they send you an email or something to acknowledge receipt of your application...??

I thought i had read somewhere or spoken to someone that you would receive acknowledgment after around 2 weeks and hopefully confirmation in about 12 weeks..!?!

Having asked our agent yesterday if we had had acknowledgment from QLD Government, she said they dont acknowledge receipt, the first we will hear is confirmation if we have been successful or not - is this correct..??

Cheers

This is not correct, first they send an acknowledged email with file number and estimated time to make decision.

Cheers

Julie / Paul,

may I ask where you found this acknowledgement-thing? On an official site?

Btw, I also applied about two weeks ago, and haven't heard anything since.
I gave them a call on Monday and was told that my application was actually received and that I would be sent an email of acknowledegment soon. Hmm, guess what's still due to arrive ...

I suggest you plainly to call the Department and check it out this way. The staff is very kind and relaxed. The lady indicated that there are lots of people calling at the moment who are asking exactly the same as I did, so I suppose they are kind of used to it

Good luck for your application
Dennis

I have just tracked my application sent with FedEx, it shows as being delivered on Monday but I have not received a confirmation email as of yet.

So fast..... I wish visa also comes in that speed

Well...I am not expecting any email from them..i know no state is sending emails dese days coz of flood of applications.. and better they give some decision in 2-3 months time till then situation about CSL will be also clear..
hi Aman,

Why did you choose 176 over 175, just the time frame or some other reason also.

And I know you are SAP specialist, so would it be advisable to go for SS and stay in the same place for 2 years.when you can have other opportunities once in Oz. and get advantage of your skills for better renumerations.

you applied for QLD? right so how the job market over there for IT people?

What are the fees for SS?

And I am working on .net what would you suggest me go for 175 or 176.

Well man....175 is far better than 176...but as rules are changing day by day..I thought to apply for SS...so that I get the visa in this year...anyways...I am in CSL so i think picture will be more clear in another 2-3 months...by that time i will get SS output also..so I think its ok..If i am sure i will get visa soon den i will go for 175..otherwise will go for SS

in QLD IT is not that good....VIC, ACT and NSW are dreamlands for IT professionals..I applied for QLD coz my frnds are in Brisbane..so may be i will like to go dere...

1. would anyone please let me know, without IELTS is it possible to apply for SS in Queensland. I just plan for send SS and in the mean time finish the IELTS exam and then finally lodge 176 visa. Is it possible?

2. Please give the document checklist which will have to send.

I think you can. In the checklist, there is no IELTS test result required. Maybe you try to check again. Good luck!
