gzxxd,
you got to be patient. whether CO or CO's assistant, they must be following their standard procedure. They clearly had your "Evidence of work experience" as not met.
Once you sent in the required documents, it has changed to met.
However, the "character requirement" part is wholly at DIAC's discretion. Again, this is given upfront in the terms and conditions of our visa applications. They'll do their check and it does take long to complete. Especially for HR countries, it takes much longer. I am not sure whether you belong to one. but be patient and i do not see anything done wrong in yuor case. you'll get there eventually.

But I wanna clear sth up..
My "Evidence of work experience" wasn't changed to "met" from "requested" once I sent the required documents. It wasn't changed to "met" until I have had a telephone check(work experience check) from the local embassy on 14/5.
The date of"Evidence of work experience" changing to "met" is 9/6.....
As you said,I belong to HR countries. But is it true that the "character requirement" part is wholly at DIAC's discretion and it takes much longer to check? I doubt it a little.......

Does the CO attempt to verify your skills - whether you satisfy the MODL or CSL requirements or does he simply check that you worked for the duration mentioned and at the position mentioned. I am very suprised that the process is taking more than 2 months for me after all documents were submitted and when I am on MODL - CSL.
Can I contact DIAC call center though I have an agent.

If you signed form 956 authorising DIAC to communicate with your agent then that is who they will communicate with.
Really, if you have doubts contact your agent. After all, that is what you are paying them for! THEY can contact DIAC if they feel that it's taking a long time. And honestly, 2 months is not a long time. There are people whose security checks take well over a year.

If your skills assessment says you are on MODL or CSL then that is what your visa application will be processed as.

I am a July 2007 applicant from HR country , and my occupation is in the CSL list.
My case is with the officer for about 9 months and every time I call them they say that it`s in the external check. What does external check mean?
I sent Medical and PCC 15 months ago.Do you think I send another Medical and PCC for them or wait for the officer whether he extend the validity?
Best Regards

External checks.
I think it is the same as routine processing.
LR countries will be granted faster.

I applied for a 175 visa in June 08 , I got a CO in April 09 and he requested many things among which were more evidence of previous employment . I sent that in and since then I didn't get any feedback from my CO .
I knew from my previous employer that the Australian embassy phoned him and asked about me to verify my employment ; They phoned him 3 times and each time they asked different questions . The last verification call was about 3 weeks ago ;
I am wondering how long more I have to wait before a decision to be made on my application ???
I am getting desperate as it's almost 14 months now without a decision on my application . I've been sending dozens of e-mails lately to my CO and he never replied !!! Don't know why ??
Cheers

Well here nobody can give u any definite answer for "how long u need to wait", employment verification is one of the check but in fact there other checks as well like security clearance as well, which usually done by external agencies in the applicant's country and sometimes these checks takes time and cause delays, so CO & DIAC don't have any control over external agencies processing.

here u go
http://www.immi.gov.au/about/reports.../output1-3.htm
"National security and counter-terrorism
The department works closely with Australian security and law enforcement agencies to strengthen border security and to prevent the entry of non-citizens who may pose a threat to Australia’s national security.
All non-citizens applying to enter or remain in Australia are assessed against the requirements of the Migration Act 1958 and migration regulations. All visa applicants undergo security checks during the processing of their visa applications.
As Australia’s border management system is multilayered, checking occurs not only during visa processing, but also at pre-boarding under Advance Passenger Processing and on entry at the Australian border.
A major new initiative during the year was the phased introduction of the Security Referral Service (SRS) system which, when fully implemented in 2008–09, will enable new levels of electronic connectivity with the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation. The new SRS system provides for greater efficiencies in the processing of visa applicants and a strengthening in security checking arrangements.
The department is actively involved in whole-of-government counter-terrorism efforts, working with other departments to exchange information on both our domestic and international counter-terrorism efforts. The department also exchanges information with other countries on programs and policies to promote social harmony and prevent radicalisation and extremism. "
On the above link u can read more.
Following is the extract of the mail i directly got from my CO
"At present your application is undergoing checks which are part of the routine processing of visa applications. Unfortunately, ensuring all the legal requirements are met in relation to an application can take some time. In particular, it can take several months to gain any necessary health, character and national security or other checks or clearances from other agencies."
Hope fully u can understand .
