Re: paperbased applications thread
Thats ok though, just make sure you include all the relevant ref. numbers.
We were even emailing my OH payslips every couple of months, just didnt want them to forget about us! We then phoned them 20th Nov just enquiring if we were any further forward as we have a note of interest on our house, we were told that no CO had been allocated. We then received the long awaited email 24th Nov - Visa Granted!!!

Well done Carl-Ang it's a Brilliant feeling isn't it. We are in the same boat as you regarding selling our house. Ours has been on the market for a year now and we dropped it 20K but still no takers!!! If we can't sell, we will have to vallidate.

We got back from New Zealand on the 10th Dec after being granted my 175 on the 1st Dec. After a horrendous wait in the Australian Consulate of 90 minutes (the computer systems went down!) we got the sticker in the passport and a congrats from the clerk. If anyone has to go offshore that's already in OZ I thoroughly recommend New Zealand its very beautiful and perfect for a tour round, just get to Auckland and park before 10am as its cheaper

Re: paperbased applications thread
we had a camper van and did a North island tour up to bay of islands stopping off at a different place each night there are loads of campsites along the way. On the way we walked up an old volcano, stopped off to see the glow worm cave. We got as far as kerikeri then drove back down the west coastline through the kauri forest (staying over at trounson forest park didn't see their kiwis though!). We came back into auckland on day 4 - you don't need to leave your passport if you allow a few days for all the details to reach auckland (electronically) they do it there and then. There are two car parks near quay street that offer early bird parking around sturdee street before 10am otherwise its really expensive per hour. The consulate is in the price waterhouse cooper towers on floor 7. We found auckland a bit of a disappointment as it was so cloudy we could not do the tower and there did not seem much else on offer aside from boat trips. We then went south to the coramandel peninsula - anywhere there is very beautiful, we did a walk up the gorge and up to the sumit at kharangahaki (i think the spelling is close) before cutting in back to rotorua. The thermal village just outside there is an excellent way to spend 4-5hours don't forget to order the hangi meal they cook it in the thermal pool there the village is called whakarewarewa and they do a little mauri show, show you round etc as its a living mauri village. We then went back to auckland to fly home. Pick up the arrival book at auckland airport and any literature there as there are discounts for all sorts of things all over and tips on what to do. We had 10 days so did not go down to wellington but will prob go back and do the south at some point. I really recommend a camper van with www.bedmobils.com as we stayed on campsites with great amenities so did not need a great lumbering van with a shower etc. We had such a comfortable van that was so easy to drive with a fab comfy slatted bed! Hope this helps
